Was thinking the same driving home. They didn't look like a half back pairing last week or this week. They looked like two individuals. Lino and Miller actually look like they work together.

Exactly right but Poching seems to rate Gaskell but I can’t say I’ve been impressed. We simply can’t have another game with them two at halfbacks. As you say it’s predictable. Lino stays on the right, Gaskell stays on the left. There’s no link up an it’s all individual hope for the best. Rather see Walker play.
We really miss Batchelor too. The lad has been very strong in the middle for us this year.
I think we need some fresh faces for the Wigan game and give the likes of Eseh, Walker, Tanivalu (so Kay can go to 9), Shaw, Croft.
If we don’t spell a big number of the squad we will be crocked for KR game.

Fewer than the dumb ball steals. One on Castleford's 1st set had us on the back foot straight away. How dumb are the culprits???

| Flat as a fart from minute 1 to minute 80.
It's as though the players had been forced to turn up against their will.
Our forwards looked low on energy and desire from the start and some of the mistakes were just criminal.
It reminded me of the now infamous "card school" game in London all those years ago but, this was a derby game against our local rivals.
Utterly depressing.
It would be interesting to know what our set completion was. It has to be the lowest of the season, probably by any side in the comp.
Shocking performance, really shocking

| Looking back Lino and Gaskell were poor last night ,and not alone may I add ,but it’s the same old formula , what chance have they got of creating when our forwards are completely dominated from the word go . The same forwards that ripped into Wigan and dominated the opening period simply melted away last night ,and failed miserably to deal with the go forwards of Cas or their defence to be honest .There was no slow drop off of intensity as fatigue set it as I could see ,we were just well off the pace from word go and suffered the consequences. Cas have some quality in their team but haven’t been quite at the races, we rolled over and gave them the game on a silver platter without so much as a murmur. Pride, passion, went out of the window last night , some will be hurting after that performance of that I’ve no doubt ,some won’t and some simply aren’t good enough or bothered by the looks . Poaching will be hurting just as much as us ,I’ve no doubt ,let’s hope he can rally them for Monday or our points difference is going to be in for a battering not to mention the team .on a brighter note I’ve saved myself a whole lot of money in having a family day on Monday ,instead of taking the clan to Wigan ,I’ve had a stomach full this Easter ,so I’m giving it along with my wallet a break

I’ve defended the clubs lack of ambition in signings this season because I get it..
But that doesn’t excuse tonight, there simply is no excuse.
Some players are robbing money. It so reminds me of 2005 when we fell apart.
We are now yet again dependent on the promoted club being worse than us. How many times is that going to work. We can’t keep doing this.'"
boy have you changed your tune

| what narks me is when you have a player with the clubs colours running through his veins and you allow him to leave to bring in a replacement that has shown quality in the past but is now defunct of any decent performance I just don't get it

| Thankfully I am circa 100 miles away so missed the game, was gutted initially but it sounds like the better deal here! Can't comment on the performance as I wasn't at the game, or the Wigan one, but for the past 200 minutes of Rugby we've scored 16 points and conceded 94. What the hell happened at half time against Salford?! We've been rubbish since.

Chester signed Gaskell can not blame Poching for been left with a team made up of 90% of Chesters signing .Getting a lot more out of them than Chester did .I think Gaskell as been one of Chester worst signing ,and after what he signed in the last 3 year that is saying a lot That is why we are were we are

| Trinity still need another genuine big experienced prop. The pack doesn’t have enough grunt to compete especially without Fifita and seem to get dominated easily.
Pity they can’t find another Keegan Hirst in the Championship……

| I called it at the start of page 12 on this thread so not using it as an excuse after the event but the two day extra rest for Cas proved massive for me.
They dominated right from the start and we just never got going and seemed to lack energy and enthusiasm for the task right from the start.
They signalled their intent starting Watts who's been coming off the bench recently....we couldn't live with him and Westerman making real easy metres and offloading for fun....our forwards were just happy to amble in and get dominated on the floor leading to painfully slow play the balls giving the backs nothing to work with..
Not for the first time this season we reverted to panic rugby at times which made matters worse...a night to forget for sure...
Just hope the injured players are back for Monday as we need big changes...
Miller, Fifita, Batchelor, Aydin, Walker, Murphy, Shaw... should all come in if available and I'd rest/drop.. Arona, Battye, Hood, Ashurst, Pitts...
Lets hope Saints and Wigan is a belter today and they knock lumps out of each other...with our lack of effort last night and extra day rest might be a slight advantage come Monday if we freshen up right...

| Fatigue was clearly an issue. We are not the only club that's ever happened to.
But we needed better tactics and squad rotation to handle that.
Saying that. I've just seen the McShane try. It's like a horror film.
