The temp Huddersfield coach in addition to moaning about Pauli Pauli and his players departure to the sin bin did say they had spotted a weakness on our right hand side. I regret that It is becoming obvious that the weakness is Finn who is not strong or quick enough to stop a playing running at or around him.
The other weakness is actually not MCB but the wing of BJB where even a team of 12 can produce an overlap.
I think Hampshire played well at full back but that is not a position we cannot cover, we need him to play scrum half.

The right has been the weak side all season. Lynn I think is pretty solid but shouldn’t have to cover BJB wing when he shoots the line leaving an overlap. Yesterday wasn’t the first time either.

As for Hamoshire. He should be in at SH and given a run and be backed with some time. Finn is carrying an injury and we can’t afford to carry that.

BJB is a bit of an enigma. He's probably our best finisher and scores some cracking tries. On the negative side he shoots out for the interception or tackle and either leaves the winger a clear run in or pats down to give them a repeat set.
I would have him in the team every time though.

I think Lyne has really improved his defence but the errors are coming further inside which means Lyne and BJB are having to deal with a lot of 3 on 2 situations.

We can comment all we want about defence but on the whole i think it has been ok, it is attack where we have struggled.

It was okay, however in recent weeks our defence has looked as lacklustre as the attack.

This 'its the wingers fault' is something that frustrates me. Its difficult for a winger because they are reliant on everyone inside them to do their jobs correctly. As others have mentioned, there are a lot of overlaps produced on our right edge, which means something is going wrong. As a winger faced with a 2 on 1, youre damned if you do and damned if you dont.

He rushes up and knocks the ball down- repeat set,
he rushes up and misses the ball. tackle resulting in a try,
he doesnt rush up leaving a 2 on 1, try

its a difficult situation as a winger and you only get a split second to make that call. For me, its generally not the wingers fault, its everyone inside who is failing do do their job.

On Sunday BJB didn’t need to rush inwards and same with TJ on other occasions. I think it might be a case of none communication from centres. They should be telling their wingers to stay man for man.

Rocky played well at fullback on Sunday why do people want to change him for someone who's weak in defence like Jowitt he had enough games a couple of seasons ago & proved he wasn't up to the job giving him a run won't make him play any better. Why can a lot of fans see it & yet a lot of fans think he's the answer. FB is the last line of our defence so we need someone who can do the whole job & not half a job

Comes through 12 others before it gets to the FB as well, but that’s okay.

Will that be the season that he won SL young player of the year?

I personally dont think he is the answer to the problem right now, but more game time can only improve him.

I highly doubt it because Jowitt has never won SL young player of the year.

You are probably getting mixed up with Albert Goldthorpe rookie which is picked by a few journalist from the league express.

CC seems to have lost that 'devil may care' attitude he had when he first came to the club and rotated the squad at Easter.
There have been numerous debates about the merits of playing local products and for me that still stands.
At the risk of repeating myself, at the moment there seems to be no reward for playing well when given the opportunity and no consequence for playing poorly, which in turn has lead to this disjointed situation we have.

When he first broke into the team defence was undoubtedly Max's weakest area. This year though I think he has made some good 1v1 tackles when he has played, certainly as good as Grix who is very hit and miss as the last line of defence.

As somebody else has said though if the FB is making tackles it means somebody else has already missed one which is more of a concern.

When were the 1on1 tackles i did'nt see them I saw the three errors in the first ten minutes at Cas I saw him play at hull when he was the third man because he turned his back on the player coming towards him he bounced off & then helped the other two tacklers & one just fell over him resulting in others catching up & tackling the attacking player. That Jowitt you mean. Fans forgive him for some reason (Probably his attack) but he's still got this with his defence. it's alright saying they've got through 12 players before him but you need someone solid at FB not a will he won't he make the tackle The top teams would'nt put up with it why should we.
