Anyone know if the club have been out in force trying to entice the Wakefield public in the run up to the game? Lots of parents looking for something for their bored school children to do.'"
If your a Wakey supporter you will know that the people of Wakefield couldn't give a toss about Wakefield having a rugby team. You can throw as much money at advertising as you want and it would not make any difference at all.
Sadly the only thing that works is a winning team and due to the players not performing this season for reasons only they can tell us we will not get the fans back to the games.
The people to blame are the players themselves yet we are looking at them to keep us up God help us

| A poor few minutes from Trinity ends in Bradford crossing for a try.
Walker on from the bench has given 2 consecutive penalties away, Lee Smith made a lovely beak but then ignored his support and got a bit indulgent, should have been 36-0

| Overall a superb half of rugby from Wakefield, we lost a bit of go forward when we spelled the starting props and we got a bit cocky with the ball, thinking it was a cake walk meaning we've bombed at least two certain tries
Get back to the game plan and do the things we started out with!

| Easy win I'm the end. Certainly far easier than I expected. I didn't realise how poor Bradford were but credit to Trinity they never let the Bulls a sniff.

Sort of related is thee fact that Smith has got rid of some very ordinary players who offered nothing. Whilst at last managing to get the best out of what quality we have, Also all his signings bar Tansey are looking better than the players they replaced.
Lee Smith was great in the first half (though clearly not good enough for Sandal) - I like Sio and Topou and Mullay and Walker,
Jeezif we'd have advertised and got Smith when Agar went we'd be top 8 now.
Anyways vast improvement though still a bit shaky in defence and prone to going off the boo; - all be it for much shorter periods.

Is that the best you can muster?
No mention of a near faultless first twenty minutes that blew Bradford away, you must be absolutely gutted this evening.
We still need to pack in gifting penalties with silly ball steals – note to Timmy.

| Well no doubt if I praised Trin (and I do) you'd probably find fault just as much as if I'd cricitsed for say conceeding 18 points ( and I'm not). So wind your neck in DA

| I agree Vastman, B Smith has reworked the team and got a decent unit out of them.
Sio is a vast improvement over Moore who is a poor player and Cas must be laughing their 6 toed socks off.
Tupou is very strong in the carry and the collision but as yet we haven't seen any pace from him either explosive or long distance.
L Smith has given us some solidity at the back while he also brings the ball back well and joins the line effectively
The return of Ashurst and the game time afforded to Molloy has given us some stability in the back row with Washbrook doing a solid job as a replacement off the bench.
I'm not convinced yet by Walker who was poor today, he gave away two penalties that lead to Bradfords first try. He consistently lost the collision or fell off the tackle after being first man in, one occasion gifting Ferguson his try in the 2nd half.
As I said earlier in this thread, the team just might click today and I think to a significant extent they did. Leigh are a different challenge completely to Bradford and we'll need to improve again if we want to keep them from racking up points.

| I think it was a job well done. It what I would expect from a B Smith side with each player taking the field playing to plan. We havnt the best players on the field but you could not fault the effort and team work. Next week will probably be a totally different game with in your face rugby from the off, having said that we had them beat in the cc only to let them take control in the second half.
I think B Smith will already have a file on Leigh and would expect a full blooded game with a sneaky win for the Trinity. I think we are ready at last for the 8s.

| Job done, didn't expect it to be that easy, but just what we needed. the forwards dominated from early on which gave Smith and Miller the room and time to do their stuff. If Miller could just improve his passing game, it does let him down at times, although his one to Sio for the try was excellent. Thought Scruton went well today and cut out his silly penalties etc. Think Leeds have got a good 'un in Mullally, wish we had him next season! All in all pretty good, obviously gonna be completely different next week, different atmosphere, different ref probably, need Salford to do Leigh tomorrow, puts them under pressure then for next week.

Sio/Godinet is a very good hooker rotation with Sio being capable of playing back row and Godinet being capable at half.
Kirmond, Locke, Lauitiiti and Johnstone could all make appearances at some point.

Regarding your praise, I’ll have to take your word for that, because all I’ve tended to see is tale of woe.
Now, don’t get me wrong I’m hardly one of the rose tinted brigade, but that first twenty was as good as I’ve seen for many a long year.
You on the other hand use an ex-wakey player’s abject performance as a prime reason for the victory.
Maybe you enjoy being a pantomime villain, but for once have the grace to complement a good performance, you never know, you may actually enjoy it?
Have a beer or two tonight & reflect on your team finally playing well – I know I will.
