Quote: J.T "Is it 'typical Wakefield' or 'typical Wakefield fans'? Non story for me but some fans are never happier than when they think they've got something to worry/complain about so they can knock themselves out with this one...'"

Agree, a massive over reaction by the usual suspect imo, posts more when it's bad news.

I agree. It is saying somethingw hen we have fans from other clubs coming on being the voice of reason too.

Its happened and been solved. No more to say.
No one else cares but the longer we go on about it the more likely it will be picked up again.

Quote: Mable_Syrup "I read it as Elston told Sandal Cat the reasons and he agreed not to air it in public?'"

I have been told the reason and because of the sensitive nature and the bodies involved it cannot be made public. There is nothing underhand or sinister and as I have said previously only time will tell whether the Club's finances are in order or not but at the moment I am content what I have been told.

I think its time to move on and let the matter lie.

looking at the need to suport our club first and the need for transparancy ...it is allways a fine dividing line.on what people should know and what is best for the club at this time.

On one hand the drive for membership and for oct ? ( desperate need for cash?)
official version arnt we doing well with all our new members?

The unthought through statement that it was" just a mistake we ended up with a winding up order "

Is it a mistake that the club now has a C.C.J.( County court judgement for £8500 pound as well?)

Which can only have an adverse effect on our credit rating and at the same time if we continue down this path our next application for a super league licence.

Please please Spirit of 1873 sort out.

Oh you've done it now. Big Alf will be on a mission for rest of week searching the appropriate news outlets to uncover this latest bit of negativity. Expect an update on the Cas forum anytime soon.

Unless of course its just a load off old garbage!

You have to wonder who it is that sits trawling for these bad news stories about us and trying to de rail the good things that are happening at the club. Is it someone with a grudge against the club or someone from a rival club. I hear other clubs are in much worse financial position than ours

I don't really mind the stories coming to light. What really upsets me is how the cock-ups happen in the 1st place. If this episode is down to some individual not doing their job then they ought to be disciplined.

Also. The issue was 1st publicised on TotalRL.com by a poster "South Wakefield Sharks". What sort of grudge have they got?

It was first published on the cas forum by alcasfan/bigalf then put straight on here then spread like wild fire on all RL forums while bigalf sat back with a sticky keyboard. Some cas fans are desperate for us to have negative publicity that's how desperate they are sad but true. Thing is we're in a lot better state than them from what I hear. He who laughs last laughs loudest and all that.

Okay, this thread is doing the Club no good at all and continuing it in the way we are is playing straight into the hands of those who do not wish the Club well and wish it to fail and I fear that some of our own fans (if indeed they are fans) fall into that category also.

I've been assured that the HMRC issue was a misunderstanding and has been dealt with. The other issues raised have also been dealt with satisfactorily and that the Club is trading as normal. Anyone who is is business knows that cash flow is always an issue. You need your debtors to pay you in order that you can pay your creditors, that is how it is, its normal business practice.

The Club is sound, it's not going under which will be a disappointment to some, so can we now end this thread and look forward to hearing some good news shortly, whether thats achieving the Membership Target or player news.

As I have said, nothing more to see here, now lets move on.

something very fishy here

so the club is saying there is nothing to worry about and they get monthly visits from HMRC because of whats happened before.

if that is the case how come this has been missed, surely if HMRC were coming every month they would of brought this to the clubs attention.

seems the club is telling you what they want you to hear

and why have a go at adeybull, he was merely stating a fact, wasnt trying to be funny about anything, or is it a case of ' we know our club is lying to us so we will go on the attack to anybody that comments'

I have to smile. Some folks on here have taken knicker twisting to a whole new level! In the space of three days we've gone from, "Together we are stronger" to, "We're doomed I tell ye. We're all doomed!!"
The club has issued a statement - it was an oversight, a mistake and it's all been dealt with. Nobody else seems too worried about it. It's just been on the news that Salford's winding up hearing has been rearranged but I didn't hear any reports that Trinity are in financial straits. Just let the people who run the club get on with it - they sem to be doing a pretty good job generally. And as for all the posters saying that the mistake should never have been made in the first place - I agree but the self righteous criticism should be the preserve of those on here who have never made a mistake themselves..... mmmh, I thought so.
Right - I'm going online to buy two season tickets for next year.

It truly is amazing what a bit of bad news will do, people who have never posted have popped up to those that very rarely do have reappeared.
