The Clan is on fire this week, throwing out zingers all over the place!
I have to say though, considering that this is an internet forum and all, that using facts to refute spurious and unfounded arguments is rather poor form; this is the second thread you've shut down in as many days.

Can you post the same for Steve Parkin. We all know he is rich and his company turns over a lot of money, but would be good to see his "actual" worth.

Do your own research. This is not Wakeypedia you know.
I much prefer when Mrs. Rugbyball uses you log in; she's quite witty and amusing.

He owns 70% of Clipper, with a group valuation of around £100m, that of course does not mean he has £70 million in spare cash burning a hole in his trouser pockets though
I would reckon as Clipper has only really expanded over the last few years, and let's remember turnover and profit are two vastly different animals, the amount of personal disposable cash he has is a long ways behind Caddick, who has been banking big bucks for a lot longer.
Its always good though when you have a guy like Parkin willing to put his time and energies into a project, and with possibly some good news on a start date for newmarket later, maybe a deal for short term groundshare down at Barnsley, I think you should be confident for the future.
A good on field performance this season, added to the above and Redhall might be forced to rethink. If they don't, then 3 years to regroup in the co-op before coming back up is not the end of the world.

Why does it bother you so much, Caddick v Parkin, who is richer, who cares they will both only give as much as they are willing to give and that is known only to themselves - certainly not to billynomatesrhino.

| I think a lot a people assume that if the next owners are worth multi millions that they will just tip all their money in to the club. These are rich people who made money by making calculated decisions with their heads not their hearts. If you are worth 170 million it isn't just sat in the bank it is invested in companies & property. They will spend some of their disposable income or just guarantee lones.
I would love someone come along and put enough money in to pay for a new ground and then spend to the cap but I can't see it. The best I think we will get is a stable club that can grow and long term be a regular in the top half of the table. If any of these people had a blank cheque why didn't they take on the club weeks ago. The reason is they made a business decision that it was cheaper after admin.
I hope we do a Man City but we could end up a Notts County which would be OK. I just want a viable club that plays in Wakefield and is called Wakefield.

I understand, like you, that Steve Parkin holds 70% of Clipper and I also heard that his personal wealth was estimated around the £150m mark, so due to Paul Caddicks problems over the last couple of years he probably does currently have deeper pockets. Clipper turns-over about £180m per annum I think as well, so that means that his dividend is likely to run into the tens of millions per annum. That makes him super-rich!
I trust Clan and if he says he is in the running, he is in the running, but ultimatley news will emerge very swiftly tomorrow I expect!

| Does it really matter who has more money than who. Unless the RFL suddenly abolish the salary cap there is only so much you can spend on a club anyway. You can bring in top coaches, but how many do you need 4 or 5 at the most update the gym etc. After that the variable costs are fairly limited.
Having 100million or 10000million pounds will not make much of an impact on the levels that a person can spend on a club.

For a club like us it would be like abolishing the salary cap.

From what i have heard we are nowhere near to spending the full cap and where the person who buys the club to allow us to spend up to the cap we would be able to sign 3 or 4 top players and still fit under the cap.

| Please, everybody -one step at a time!
We're not out of administration yet - in fact, I'm not sure we're even in it yet, I think we've applied for it but thats to be decided tomorrow.
Any prospective buyers will surely have talked to the RFL and asked for assurance re. the license - I can't in all honesty seeing the RFL saying anything that would leave them open to accusations of 'fixing' the next license round (' OK, seeing as you've got pots of money we'll give you a license) - and that would make me think twice before putting money in. Added to that NM is not yet a certainty - it bloody well should be, but thats another story.
We'll do well to survive at all, but I think we will, and hopefully we may prosper. But it would be just our luck for the courts to refuse administration, the club folds, THEN NM gets approval and Cas move in! Actually, that sounds like it would be Boxes wet dream!
