| I've thought long and hard about this. I feel like I've got a duty to help the club but I feel annoyed by the tone of the request. I feel like it will be my fault if the club isn't saved and I just dont think, as a fan, it's my fault. What a business should not do is blame the people who turn up each week and hand over the money, but ask themselves why some people aren't.
There is a wolf at the door. If the share issue is successful, the wolf will be fended off. But what happens when the next wolf comes knocking? I don't see it as saving the club but postponing it's demise.
I appreciate the club wants to keep things confidential, but you can't sell a proposal to people without being honest and open. If someone can persuade me that the money will get us through a season with anticipated gates of, say, 4,000 then maybe I'll reconsider, but at the moment, in the words of Duncan Bannatyne, I'm oot.

| Sorry Phil I read that as looking on my phone, so somewhere there has been some kind of leak which makes our situation worse than it is? No idea? Anyone?

Maybe this taken from Yorkshire Post concerning the leeks:
Furthermore, it is understood an arrangement made with
HM Customs and Excise to pay further unpaid tax bills over a set period has been torn up after it saw the Crusaders enter administration last month and it seems likely Wakefield could be set for a similar result unless an amazing effort is completed in the next three weeks.

Sorry to disappoint aswell, I was not looking for any fault on Wakefield's behalf - just interested to know the circumstances.

| How can HMRC do that if we have an agreement in place why can that be torn up because of Crusaders going into admin?

This appears to be a last ditch desperate attempt, by ted and co. and after buying a season ticket every year for the last 25 years, I am now being asked to stump up £1000 to save the club. What's happened to all the money in the past? I simply can't afford to pay this, but honestly now I am so fed up of the whole debacle, I'm not even sure I would if I could, as there is no way we will get 500 people to invest IMHO, so I might as well give £1000 to a tramp so he can have a good time with it
The answer is in a post above this one!

Because they lost out on money owed from The Crusaders and are not taking their chances with any other clubs using this as an escape route?

| Surely the question is though how do we owe the tax man still and how can the BOD have put us in a position where we have paid a bill of GBP 194k and Rodney Walker one of GBP 164k and yet we still owe money!
I obviously want the club to get through these difficult times, but it is difficult to be sympathetic to the BOD in the circumstances, as these problems could and should have been avoided

| So the money is needed to pay yet another tax bill. What happens next year then when we haven't got a licence but still have the this years bill to pay plus the large historic debt round our necks? Administration with everyones £1000 meaning diddly, thats what happens.
Sorry but going into adminsration now and starting again is the only answer. We are not going to get a licence either way so keep the 500k for a fresh start and give the club a chance of making it back one day in the future. Taking the money now just means they'll be less investment around to reform the club at the end of the year when the inevitable happens.
