| What is selfish about wanting to bring jobs to the area? If i was out of work living near the development and i campaigned to get the jobs that would be selfish.

| Quote: rugbyball "Actually I would support any proposal that benefits any rugby league team, as I love the game, I guess you are cynical to my intentions due to the cautious nature of my posts which is fair enough. I trying to make the point that if people like TRB and swag want to influence the planning process then it is my belief that more subtle methods are required as at the moment everything comes across as being selfish, focusing on things such as job creation etc, when openly admitting you have never campaigned for this in any other circumstances just looks shallow.
My biggest problem with this development lies with the developer using the wildcats as the PR front for a speculative planning app on greenbelt land and the club just going along with it as they have no other viable option.
I can fully understand why fans want to see all the positives and believe the hype, as I said earlier I would love to see a state or the art Rugby facility in Wakefield, I just feel more caution should be applied in how we back it.
To sum up I guess what Im saying is the more people shout look over here, the more people will look!'"
Are you for real? I'm sorry, but if your arguement for me being selfish is using the fact that there are jobs up for grabs, then I cannot agree.
The fact that I have not campaigned does not mean that I have not formed opinions, nor that I either agreed nor disagreed with them strongly enough, or it could be that I just thought that it was not my business to - that cannot be said of this development as the potential benefit to Wakefield is massive and it completes the mission statement that we produced 5 years ago.
I am true to what I believe - and I believe that this is a fantastic proposal!

I am not saying their is anything wrong with being selfish in wanting the best for your club. what Im saying is it may be more harmful than good campaigning under banners that you have no real conviction for. Basically why not stick to telling people why having a new stadium for the wildcats would be good for the wildcats as that is your priority. Why should anybody take notice on any other aspect when you clearly have a vested interest.
I take it we disagree and It is regretful if I have offended you in any way, I actually believe in your aim of getting a stadium for you club, I just feel your methods may be self defeating.
It would be interesting to know what you opinion is of the other points I have made are, such as the club being used as a sweetener in the planning process for the developer, or the real opposition the project faces.
And as for the game being up, not at all, I will freely admit I removed the post after a someone else backed up your point its called being wrong, something I am not afraid to admit! the skit at you still stands that you seem willing to provide the pitfalls on other peoples plans, yet bound on in the face of the obvious flaws in you own, using anything and anyone as pawn's in you game.

Doesn’t everyone have a vested interest, whether for or against? The stadium is the main priority for most of us on here, that doesn’t stop us from recognising the benefits the number of jobs this scheme will bring to the area.

I fail to see how encouraging people to write into the local rag in support of the new development is self-defeating. There will be many letters from people opposing the development, you can be sure of that.
With respect to your other concerns, I think the project has been discussed with the neighbouring authority and the response was very positive. This development would open up the possibilities of the other side of the M62 being developed bringing further jobs to the area. Most motorway junctions have seen some development, have they all had opposition to their construction? Given that they are in existence then the opposition failed to put the spanner in the works for those developments.

OK,Lets play your game.
Leeds Met -- non starter.
Other businesses --- name them.
Landlords 1 -- Will all support as will bring extra trade to the pub.
Landlords 2.-- Didnt know there were that many properties round there, that were let out
Landlords 3.-- As in landowners? Im sure if this development gets the go ahead, any other local landlords will be rubbing their hands as they will see the possibilities that exist for their land.
Know ,you tell us why the three categories you name will have any decent reasons to oppose the proposals.

Make your mind up - one minute you're luaghing at us, the next you're suggesting that you support us.
There are no 'Pawns' in any 'game' - merely a desire to be part of something good for Wakefield.
