| I would think at his age and with his experience he would be financially better off going part time at a championship side and working

Well maybe, but there's talk on another site of 3 other SL clubs who may be prepared to take him on if Wakefield don't re-sign him, one of them being St Helens!

| I don't see why we can't keep him.
Lineham has to go, whether sold or on loan.
Our other 3 wingers are 1 young star, 1 young star just recovered from a long injury and one aussie we've hardly seen play coming back from injury.

It’s just one of the throw away fan pages (serious about rugby league I think) who suggest 3 clubs who could look at Kyle if trinity don’t re-sign him. There’s nothing from the clubs and it’s just complete pie in the sky guesswork. This has all come from that site and nothing from the 3 clubs.

Correct but I look at it this way - if we didn't have 3 wingers already in Murphy, Tafua (?) and Kershaw, we'd re-sign him like a shot I think. We need cover and for that reason I'd keep him.
TBH on last nights performance, he'd be my first call for the right wing.

I don't see why not either PT...
Also went well at Saints.
Pretty sure he could play centre as well....
Some great tackles too,,,,
Stood up well to a world class winger against him - left exposed (hardly surprising) for the tries.

My first call would be Kershaw on the right wing but Taufua has the pedigree and looked good in his stint last year.
As it stands Lineham is cover along with Kay. Like it or not we have 4/5 wingers in our squad and that’s just how it is. The cover is within that.
Now I like Kyle and I’d be happy to re-sign him but there may need to be some player movement to make that happen.
Who knows. Maybe the club are looking at options and player movements to free up some position or money. The club doesn’t let much go these days so we are left to speculate which isn’t a bad thing at all.
Whatever happens I wish Kyle well.

| I'd like to keep him but tend to agree, sadly we probably have too many players allready signed up who play his position. Despite his promising start to life as a RL player he is behind Murphy, Kershaw & Taufua in the pecking order for me, plus possibly Kay if Bowes can claim the bench hooker role. Then theres the Lineham problem. And centre is a no-no at this point, it's the toughest position to learn to defend in, after 4 games of RL thats too big a ask. If we could shift Lineham then maybe, but he'd still be down the queue and he needs first team games. And who is going to want Lineham anyway? We'd be covering a part of his wages at least if it was a championship club. And it's not like he's a young lad. We can probably use the money elsewhere.

| I don't think Taufua has done anything so far to put him above Evans.
I'd rather Kay be a hooker and Lineham go away somehow and Evans stays.

I don’t think equally Evans has done anything to put him above Taufua either.
It’s not a wazzing contest between these players. They both have value.
Taufua has the pedigree with 180 NRL games and 88 try’s. Also he looked good in the game and a half we had. Looking forward to seeing him play tbh.
It’s not a Evans vs the rest of our wingers issue. The issue is we are stacked with wingers and it’s hard to justify signing another no matter how good they may be as we have other positions to fill.
Now, the only way I can see this work is if we do a deal with a champ club with Lineham but pay a decent size of his wages. We then use that to sign Evans and take the hit. Is that worth it though when in reality we have Murphy, Kershaw and Taufua likely ahead of him. That’s no disrespect to Kyle.
The only way I can see him being at trinity is if there’s movement.
Saints need a winger and have a quota spot … I wonder if they have any interest in Taufua? These are the types of deals that may need to be done.
Would free a wing spot and quota spot and allow us to sign Evans with money to spare.
That said I’m looking forward to seeing what Taufua can do as he did look like a powerful guy who could do extremely well in SL. Despite that I want to see Kershaw continue on in that right wing spot.

Not even close to being as good as Kershaw IMO, can’t agree with what you say and I don’t think many will.
I’m a big fan of Evans but come on he’s played a handful of games.
He’s fourth choice however you view it, especially when Kershaw and Murphy are ten years younger.

Pretty much how I see it. Kyle has done well and will likely have earned the interest of some good championship clubs at least.
I’m sure Kyle is thankful for the opportunity to put himself in the window and his time at trinity has opened the door for any deals and a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent his country in the World Cup.

I don`t think they are a million miles apart to be honest in terms of where they are currently at ability wise, although Kershaw has developed his game but he is still pretty raw himself and prone to errors, as you say though the big thing is age, it`s a shame Evans didn`t make the move sooner as I think he could have been a very good player.
