| Quote: Pat Bateman "Proctor has been a sensational player, 280 NRL appearances and 22 for the kiwis up until a couple of years ago. He’s played at a level that no one has played at for the club in the last 30 years. Even if he plays at 75% of his capability he’ll be class and also great for the young forwards coming through. Really need leadership this year'"
I agree.
He has more test caps than both Solomona and Lauiti'iti and has won a four nations and a Grand Final.
He's not young but he's the same age Ali was when he came.

| Quote: vastman "Thanks for your concern, if you are as accurate as you've been in the past, and let's face it you have a downer on almost every player we sign, I expect us to win SL with Proctor MOS.
Because Westerman had a bad off field reputation, certainly in the Wakefield area, some fair, some not. Due to this IMHO he never got close to reaching his true potential with any of the clubs he played for.
Yet as if to prove my point, he did ok for us, so why not Proctor, oh that's right it's not Hull
What are you talking about, which Wakey signings have I had a downer on?
If you are happy, fair enough, let's see how he goes, but this reminds me of us signing Josh Reynolds.

You can't compare how different players react with different teams.
We are far more used to dealing with the too old, or too young, or bad rep players than most clubs and have had a lot of success with them.

You've don it a few times but tbf, normally your ex players, nearly all of who have been excellent despite your foreboding.
How you can judge how Proctor will do is beyond me, but to compare him to Reynolds is frankly absurd.
300 NRL games and 22 caps.
You may as well compare Rommel to Captain Mainwaring

That's a fair point, but when giving an opinion on a player you can only go on what they have and haven't done and Proctor has been awful on and off the field the last few years.

Alas that's where we shop.
But sometimes it works.

20+ years in SL it must work.
That said Proctor is not in that group IMHO.
If you take away the two silly incidents, he's got a superb playing record, way beyond any of, for example, Hulls current overseas players.
On this one the personality and the player need separating. Even at 34 he's a no brainer for a squad like ours. Easily the best NRL player (reputation wise) to join SL for a while, if true. It's up to Mash if he thinks the blokes attitude is right.

| Hoping we're not looking at both Proctor & Taylor, one maybe, but not both. Both are quality.
Anthony Tupou was quality, but sadly was way passed it, and really struggled.
Neither would come cheap, and given we're on a tight budget, I think it would be a huge gamble.
Whitbread has been a perfect example if bringing someone in who have their best years ahead of them.
We already have Ashurst, Pitts, Battye and Bowden who will be 30+ come the end of next year, a very ageing pack, and we may have Eseh, O'Donovan, Shaw and Windrow, but honestly, how much exposure are they going to get in the first team next year

| If we discounted every player both here and overseas who had been a Richardhead at one time or another there wouldn't be much left to choose from, not much at all.
If he's pulling the shirt on and got his playing head on then he gets my support.

I’m not so sure Pitts is in the playing squad for 2023. There’s no news about an extension but mention he’s coaching the academy. I expect he will just be coaching in 2023.
Ashurst and Tanginoa will be out starting second rowers I expect which I’m very happy with. Though we could do with a good SR signing to rotate from bench. I’d be tempted to look at Jack Ashworth still who’s out of contract at Hudds.

I saw Taylor play the Kiwis the other week and was the best player for Leeds by a country mile. His defence is another planet. I’d be thrilled if we signed Taylor.

| Stupid question but where would we play him? Never seen him play front row. Maybe 13?
