He was, I think because he was part of the all conquering Wigan team miracles were expected.
He was a window cleaner by day, and when Grandstand used to give players occupations he put down Visual Technician, made me laugh then and still does, the BBC fell for that one.

Remember Tongia being pretty good and I think he went into modelling? Hard to recall but I’m sure he left to pursue a career outside rugby league. Strange as I thought he looked promising.
Just googled and he left wakey in 2011 and there is some modelling references for 2013. He then pops up to play union in 2014.

| Quote: Eastern Wildcat "Lineham.
Hoping this is true
In reality we have at present
Murphy
Kershaw
Taufua
Lineham
Kay (in emergency)
That’s in the order I personally would play them though I do want to see more of Taufua.
I don’t think it would be too detrimental other than depth if a deal was to be made (for example Fev player swap with trinity subbing a % of wages).
That said if the coach and Lineham are wanting to draw a line under last season and work on 2024 then I’m happy for that to happen. Msinly because I thought Lineham pre-injury was solid but it was clear he came back from his injury too early probably because we were desperate and lacked fitness.
He did look fitter at Featherstone in the few games I saw him.
It all depends on if Mash thinks he will add value.

If he was carrying an injury then fair enough, but upon his return Lineham looked lazy which is one thing our side cannot carry, I'd be happy to ship him off to Fev or anyone who'd have him if we could get 50% of his wage.

He had a leg injury for a couple of months I recall and tbh he did not look fit when he returned but I remember us really struggling for outside backs. I certainly don’t think it helped his form which wasn’t great.
It might not be as clear cut as we think the reasons behind why he didn’t perform well is all I’m saying. Supporters rarely get to hear or see the full story.
If he pulls on the shirt again I’ll support him but I won’t lose sleep if there’s a deal to be done with another club. Perhaps even subsiding wages for 2023 would allow us to sign up 2 academy prospects so it’s all a balancing act.
That said Lineham has a contract and it’s only correct to do things the right way. Contracts are players livelihoods afterall.
My opinion is that I will support the club and whomever pulls the shirt on.

| They would have to buy him out of a 3 year deal, and on £100k a year, will be a good outcome for the club. Loads of cover too, so wouldn't need to replace him. Money we get could be used on improving the calibre of replacements for Miller, Fifita, Arona and Bach. It would be a win win for me

He’s not on 100k a year, that’s a myth created on here. All the same it’s a sizeable wedge that in hindsight would have been better spent on keeping Miller and Aydin. Oh well, you can’t win them all.

Are we having an orchestral suite in the new stand?

Would beat that drum at Headingley or the Huddersfield cowbell.
I do possess a guitar, tambourine and harmonica. Now I can play all the right notes, but...
