Queried this possibility many moons ago. The response would probably be the same now as it was then....... NO!!!

He was sniffing around when AG took over, but wanted the club to be guaranteed SL status, which back then it wasn't. I think, depending on IMG or whatever they are called, the club are on a firmer footing now, than what they were before.
Wasn't the good Doctor keen to get back into rugby league just a few months ago, though I believe it was Bradford who were the interested party. On of our ex directors was also involved in the Bulls, a certain Chris Brereton, though I don't think his relationship with MC ended that well.
We do need someone though, but we're facing tough times

Yes, but I suspect he's more like the kind of investor MC is looking at rather than huge corporations or sadly Hollywood stars.
There is no shortage of people with money within WMDC or the North in general. What MC was hinting at was that now we have a starting point, something to sell. Nobody is suggesting we have the KC Stadium. But the East stand will offer the focal point from which the rest can be generated.
Rich people don't mind splashing the cash, what they don't usually do is throw good after bad, Ken Davey the exception. They don't expect to make money, they expect to lose it. They will accept that if they see a chance some success and a legacy. Neither of those was on offer until now.
Now we know we will meet criteria. Now we know that we will shortly have a stadium that will be able to attract support and even some players. The club is now at a point where a wealthy investor may fancy the challenge. Before now it wasn't a challenge it was a ball and chain.
Look at it this way, to get BV to where we would like it would now probably cost less than half the amount being spent on it now and it's no longer urgent, that makes for far better maths.

I believe this was so and probably demonstrates he's not the right man for the job. He was spot on from the view of a business man which is what he is. But you have to be more than that to run a sports club, ice cold logic doesn't apply. He was totally wrong to ask for that because it's not how our sport works and it was unfair. That was his moment but he couldn't shake off the hard faced businessman that lurks within.
Takes a certain type.

| Dunelm deputy chairman Will Adderley's net worth is down £320m from last year, despite a boom for the homeware sector generally.
The businessman grew up on a council estate in Leeds. He first worked as a manager at Woolworths, before later going on to buying shares in Marks & Spencer and Morrisons.
Adderley, known as 'Bill'– son of Dunelm’s founders Bill and Jean Adderley – has twice been chief executive at the business and is now selling 15 million shares.
It was announced earlier this year that Adderley is selling a £211m stake in the business to “broaden his investment portfolio”.

True but their choice.
However we are talking sponsorships here, MC is talking about stakeholders, two very different animals.
In ASUS we must have one of the most high profile sponsors in the game.

The ASUS link probably has potential to grow but that will only depend on one thing imo. Success and exposure on the field performances and playing in the big games such as semi/finals.
If this were to happen I could see some further investment from ASUS but they have to see a return.

Sorry to keep saying this but that's not investment or not what MC means, that's commercial. I agree it will help us with ASUS that's for sure as it will with other commercial stuff. But what we really need is another director with some cash to spend, preferably one with a fetish for stadium re-builds

Oh yes I get the difference but naturally any investment is welcome. I really hope that seeing the advancement in facilities and income potential will bring with it another director who has some financial clout behind him. We must be a far more attractive proposition now (or at least will be in a number of months). If it was someone who could transform the west stand and facilities as you say that would be a huge bonus!
I know Koukash isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but he’s be perfect for Trinity. He would see some good growth and success here if he invested and allowed the club to be managed off the field by the experts such as MC etc. hopefully the club can find someone to invest and join them to make trinity a force again on and off the field.

Steve Parkin has just sold Clipper to US giants GXO for around £2 Billion his stake is around £1.2 Billion giving him a personal wealth of around £2 Billion.
He’s a Wakefield bloke and is very interested in sport, he doesn’t strike me as the type to retire to his garden
