| Did we not release Collis early.
So we keep Tupou.
Imagine this scenario
A decent NRL prop comes available, and he's been offered to super league clubs.
Toulouse put their hat into the ring, along with a few others, including Leeds. However, we don't, as we have no quota spot. In the end Toulouse bag him, and in the run in, has some stormers, in helping Toulouse to stay up.
How much would relegation cost us, probably a little more than paying Bill off, the last what 5 months or so, of his contract

| It’s a frustrating situation that’s dragged on for 3 years with Bill. When he has played he’s been a shadow of his 2018 self and is a declining asset. We can better value for that wage spend when he’s gone at the years end

You seem to have it sorted out do the maths then, realistically how much is 5 months of his contract worth? £30-£40K minimum, then according to your scenario this decent NRL prop suddenly comes available because it suits your "scenario" at probably the same wages as BT if not more if he's that decent, you say that other clubs along with Toulouse all put their hats into a ring to sign this decent anonymous prop from the NRL, if and when this player comes available, don't you think that the other clubs won't want him and be able to offer him a better deal than us because we've just spent our brass getting rid of a player on the strength of this player becoming available, you've even got the perfect scenario for him where you've got him having some stormers for Toulouse to help them stay up, If I were you I'd let Mr Carter do the maths and you stick to dog walking.

Dog walking, you've seriously lost the plot!

| It’s a rubbish situation for both the club and Bill unfortunately. He’s 32 this year and currently in the final year of his contract struggling to return from a Patella tendon rupture. Even if he did return, he’s been out for a year and I believe he’d struggle to get in over Hall, who’s been one of the shining lights this year and well and truly taken his opportunity. So we’re in a really difficult position of having one of our top players, who takes up a quota and Is potentially one of the higher earner. I believe he’ll just continue to rehab and try get him back in the team by the end of the year, but I doubt he’ll be here next year. A lot of teams will find themselves in similar positions, it’s just more amplified for us due to our financial situation and table position, especially seeing Toulouse signing 2 ex SOO players in recent weeks and a handy prop.

| Well I saw him in the reserve game and to me he just looks like a player at the end. I also stood next to him at the end of the game and saw the huge selling on his knee cap. In my opion its a bigger gamble hanging on in hope than letting him leave.
I will just add another point , if you pay a player off early with his full contract monies he is due you save money on NI contributions . Any accountant worth his salt will tell you paying off is by far the best option.

So are you implying then that Carter is not worth his salt, or could the reason be that the club cannot afford to pay him off?.

I thought you started a new job dog walking, apologies if not, no further comment to add regarding your fantasies vis a vie Bill Tupou and this phantom prop from the NRL?

No Chiz I am not suggesting that. I am suggesting MC will be well aware of the benefits of paying him off. If he chooses not to then that decision will not be financial.

Only if a doctor rights him off as an invalid (in RL terms) so no unless he has a complete relapse.

Players being paid of y the clubs insurance is rare I can’t think of many. You be looking at someone like the HKR player who broke his neck at BV as a clear cut case.

| Either way it’s looking like he’s staying to see out the remains of his contract, otherwise surely he would of gone by now?
