I doubt that being the case as it will be written into a contract that in the event of relegation contracts are null and void or something along those lines.
The problem is competing with clubs with better finances, better facilities it's a fact of life, if it were that simple we'd all be at the top of the league, there's one or two on here give Carter a hard time, he does his job he's an accountant and part time miracle worker and works with the hand he's dealt with, we aren't unique, we don't have a monopoly on bad signings, some come off others don't that's how it is, if you can't accept it the best thing to do is walk away like some have, it's less stressful.

Seb is likely to resign with hudds, he had said he would if his family were willing to stay in the uk. I suspect he has already signed on the dotted line as for instance Russell already has from that list.
You can have ashworth he should be playing his best RL at the age he is but has not impressed at all, there’s a reason saints let him go. he’s a big unit but makes far too many errors and is prone to dropping the ball.

Yes but then the player is left scrambling to get a gig at another SL club when they will all be close to the cap.

Could it be a coaching problem at shudds?

| We just aren’t an appetising club at the min to attract the quality to take us to the next level. That’s what pee’s me off the most, when we’ve had quality seasons, we’ve never built off the back of them to add more quality to compliment our team. Losing Westerman this year for me has had a massive impact, as I feel he was the glue that masked our forwards issues. A team like Wakefield simply can’t lose the best 13 in the league (my opinion) and not feel any adverse effects without replacing him for someone of reasonable comparison, which we haven’t. I’m sure I read and listened to Carter say him and the board agreed that if a player became available that would not only add quality but was a quality individual too then there could be room for getting them in within budget. There will be players getting offered to us on the daily id imagine, but I guess it’s what Poching and Carter believes what player is right for us both as an individual and as a player.

The problem is that players won't commit to signing for us as even if contracts become null and void (which I'm not sure is a required contract clause) then they are left trying to find another club at the last minute when those clubs have already completed their squads/filled their salary cap.

| As usual, we will end up with out of favour players or "projects" with perhaps a few older players coming to the end of their careers.
However, the big difference for the Trinity of today, compared with those sided of 5/10/15 years ago is that we have some excellent home produced players and that production line is doing well.
It would be great to sign another Solomona but, right now, getting the ground sorted and of course, surviving in SL is the priority.

This is the big difference. We have clearly invested in the academy and scholarship recent years and it is now starting to show dividends with the likes of Murphy, Bowes, Eseh, Shaw etc coming through. Then there’s the likes of Mearns who looks a prospect.
I really hope we keep on investing time and effort into the youth at trinity.
This won’t immediately bear fruit but over the next 2-5 years we could see some real quality homegrown players emerge. It’s just about adding the right quality players to that. I think once we get this stand built and other works done it will be a little easier to attract players of higher quality.

| Players will always sign for us whether as a stepping stone or a change of scenery, the hard bit is bringing on board players that will enhance our squad and not just because they are available. I’m sure when some of our quality overseas players signed we weren’t breaking any pots and haven’t done apart from the odd season here and there for donkeys years now ,but we’ve still managed to get quality on board ,and obviously have also attracted the wrong type ,which for some reason stick in my memories more than the quality that have been through the club.Yes the big clubs get the pick of the crop but there are always those nuggets that get left behind and looking for a fresh start . Maybe it’s the best thing to have a big clear out ,clear the decks and start to build again ,because it’s plain for all to see that we are carrying more than our fair share of deadwood and has beens .Emotions can’t come into it about player departures as if the unthinkable happened they’ve all just leave anyway ,so me me it’s best for us to have those difficult conversations with players instead of them being in the driving seat .onwards and upwards it’s the only way .

I agree with what you say, however there are certain players always on the radar of the perceived bigger clubs who I'm sure will have contingency plans in place for such an event, example if true Lino and Tanginoa are in the sights of Wigan and Warrington, I can't believe they won't find room to accommodate the said players.

Dudson might not be everybody's cup of tea but he's the sort that would make yards for you and have a bit of biff.

| The club fails to move forward in the transfer, the present crop of Recruitment's have been poor with one exception.
Players need to see a progression of quality recruitment and to suggest we need to keep hold of Tom and build round him never happened. In my view we have let Tom down and the same will go for the present crop of promising youngster's if the club do not get their finger out.
Just what's the point of having a good solid crop of youngsters to end up relegated.

| We are a long way from being relegated at this moment in time ,and I’m sure work will be going in in the background to sort our lacklustre performances ,whether by loan players or the hair dryer treatment on the current crop . Poor recruiting by the people involved have let Johnstone down certainly not the fans .IMO the current lack of performances by the first team has only given the fringe players their chance to shine and cement a place, just looking at young Bowes for my mind he should get the staring line up every time ,aided and abetted by Kaye .plenty of opportunities going forwards for players young and old who want to play for wakefield without all the doom & gloom at present ,those that don’t need to be shown the door in no uncertain terms .
