| Quote: Khlav Kalash "Understandable view point but completely counterproductive. You want better players? We need more money, we need more supporters.'"
It's all well and good this line being thrown out constantly but supporters' good will and finances aren't themselves never-ending. Especially in the current context of things. It;s up to businessmen to come up with the answers to that conundrum. Personally I do feel we need a little bit of speculate to accumulate. Whether that would be taking a risk over one or two seasons and spending over budget to improve onfield fortunes, I don't know. But if you keep dishing up garbage people will not enjoy the games and will do other things with their time.
In their last season in the championship for example, Leeds United spent a high amount in comparison to their turnover but they brought in enough quality and had a good manager picked by the board in which the gamble paid off. If not, then they'd have had to sell assets to balance the books. It's a good example of risk taking that paid off and you feel most clubs either do this to improve or they go the way of developing young players and selling them at a decent price. Rugby Legaue makes this harder because transfer fees are so few and far between however that said, maybe taking a risk and getting some feel good factor by increasing our cap spending and seeing if better results increase season ticket sales, merchandise and attendances etc may be a risk worth taking - provided it is done correctly.

| If there are no funds, then we have to loan and swap. With around five players “unavailable” for Toulouse, we have a desperate need to bolster the ranks somehow with players who are interested. Most of this lot already look like they have other gigs lined up and couldn’t give a rat’s what happens.
What’s Kyle Wood doing for a month, or Ginger Wood come to that?
We used to have a coach who could find these fringe players.

| Quote: Dunkirk Spirit "I don’t think they are being wilfully crap, but I feel something is amiss, I met big Dave,Miller, Max and James B on Tuesday night at the bistro 42 event. They made the evening and meal an enjoyable event and spoke with affection for the club and fans. I’m sure they do try but I don’t know if it’s the coaching tactics or the players abilities that are lacking. As spectators, we see the same thing every game slow play the ball, no line speed in defence, inabilities to get out of our own half, every opposition team kicks the ball deep into our half knowing we are unable to break opposition defences. I just feel we are extremely vulnerable this year, poor performances and poor crowd numbers, all too reminiscent of the dark days we endured and joked about using a cat’s nine lives every time we survived, do we have any left?'"
Good to hear, but they wouldn't have been the ones I'd have been thinking of.
TBF I don't think they are but you have to wonder how in a month they have become so woeful. If it's any consultation I have one of my feelings that we are about to turn the corner, what I can't be sure of is whether that will equate to wins.

| Quote: vastman "How on earth do you spend the money you don't have. You keep spouting this rubbish but the owners you call him can't create it out of thin air.
So go on you suggest where we get the missing 400k from?
I'm as disappointed as anyone but the players are at fault, they may not be worldbeaters but they are way better than last night.'"
The thing is, over how many games, seasons, do the vast majority keep saying, we are better than that, we are underperforming? Surely over lots of games, whether good or bad, it can't be a fluke, a flash in the pan??? The reason we don't 'perform' more often than not is, wait for it, a shock revelation.......most of them aren't that good?!!!!! Just like St. Helens have consistently performed because they are that good?! Most people are saying Fifita aside, the pack isn't up to it, they are probably Championship standard, so therefore if we end up winning 5 or 6 games every season, which seems to be the average, then that's as good as they are?! You can't have it both ways. Anthony England & Keegan Hurst were no world beaters, but they are way better than we have now, we have all been hoodwinked into thinking we have better players than we actually have, but the truth 'lies' in the performances and results generally since 2018.......

| One word describes the main reason that we did not win last night.......Fages!!
Both of our half backs could not match the skill, ability to be all over the pitch at any given time and execution.
He dictated the play.
How long are we going to stand back at each ptb and let them run at us, then backtrack in the tackle and lose another 5m? We give all opposition 15m/tackle; over 5 tackles that's 75% the length of the pitch. No wonder we're always defending in our own 20.
At every tackle the crowd were demanding that they get on side, but I think it was more the fact that they were far quicker off the mark than we were.
On the rare occasions that we are attacking in the opposition 20m area we must try and come up with a few more adventurous tactics than simply trying to barge over the line. Apart from one man our forwards are far too lightweight for this.
Also last night, we were regressing far too often to Chester style "one man rugby". Three thousand fans could see this, but sadly those that matter can't.
The man in the middle didn't help either..

Don't agree with the last bit tbh, he did ok. We cut down the penalties but to be fair Hudds were more disciplined. They were constantly offside but he didn't ping us when we were, it's just that we were too lazy to even be offside when it might have helped us.
There was one moment in the second half when Hudds were PTB and there were more Trinity players behind the Hudds defensive line than were in front of it.

| For me it’s the false hope. The two Warrington wins made it look like we could something special this year, and then we crashed out of the cup and wilted against Cas.
it is a bit disheartening to see every other team but us reach a final. Salford managed to do a GF and a CC on the bounce.

What rankles with that one is that they are possibly the only club in SL nearly as skint as us.

Perhaps you're right with the first bit, vasty. Certainly better than a few that we have had down here. He did seem a little naive at times though.

| Taking a Thursday night game, live on Sky, v Huddersfield and their 150 - 200 fans, the attendance wasn't shocking but, it was like a bloody library, with zero atmosphere.

Add to that Levi at 9 those two ran the show all night out line speed was as normal predestination and this enabled Huddersfield to put pressure on us on the last tackle and constantly have to bring the ball away from deep rarely making halfway
Lino also went missing in action Lyne ran sideways all evening again and the outside backs were often the ones taking caries one to four
Max was again outstanding and without him Huddersfield would have put 30-40 points on us
I fear a loss in Toulouse will be a result that costs Trinity SL status let’s hope we can somehow win.

If the 5 unavailable players are Fifita. Lino, Lyne, Miller and Mimms - this is based on who didn't play v Catalan earlier in the season, when Walker & Bowes played in the halves.
I may be doing one of them a did service but, boy, we look like we may struggle to put a meaningful side on the park

Think someone posted that the French have changed their entry requirements, so they would be able to travel (if it is those you've named) and play in the match.
