Croft alongside Lino and Tanginoa looked streets ahead of anyone in the reserves on the weekend, looking forward to seeing Croft get his chance again. Shame if Hall isn`t fit, he`s carried his pre season form into the season and just looks full of confidence, it would be brilliant to see him have a stormer against Leeds...
There was a time that you would have written these games off with 4 or 5 young lads filling in but these young lads are brimming with confidence, it`s good to see and that gives me confidence that we will if not win this game, not do ourselves any injustice in our performance.
Wakefield by 18 for me though.

| Big blow to not have Hall or Minns in…that takes us to 5th choice centres! I’d also be dubious on throwing Croft in there off the back of 1 reserve team outing after nearly 12 months out…would be a massive ask!
The other dilemma is whether to go with young Murphy on the wing or go with the more experienced Kay? Given that he’d be outside someone at centre playing out of position, probably Batchelor then I’d save Murphy for another day. Then have either Crowther or Brad Walker interchange 9 and the other 13.
My confidence hit a little with the centre crisis, especially seeing Leeds getting players back and nearly at full strength…but this group won’t go down easily and think it could be won in the middle of the park anyway so over to the forwards!

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| Missing a lot of three quarters and 9 in total. The team still looks good though.
Hall
Tupou
Lineham
Minns
Lyne
Davetanivalu
Kershaw
Plus
Gaskell
Hood
That’s a full back line right there.
Murphy looks good though so it’s an opportunity for him to showcase what he can do. I hope we plan to use his pace and TJ.
What a game to get your first league points in. Bring them on.

Why? Not that it matters at all who the ref is but we have a better win % in games reffed by Kendal than Leeds do? Leeds have won 8% of the games he`s been in charge of over the last few years.

Because he seems to favour the "bigger clubs".

I agree, Walker gives another dimension to our attack and for me would be extremely unlucky to miss out based on the last 2 outings, that said Crowther is as solid as they come in defence so it depends on what WP thinks we need most in this one, I might even be tempted to start Bowes and put Crowther on the bench over Kay.

| Kay on the wing instead of Murphy, Walker on bench as he can cover many positions. Bookies giving us a 6 point start, think they may increase that as punters pile on Leeds having seen our possible back line.

It was 4 points until the squads were announced and then they pushed us to 6 point start.
I do genuinely think though that Leeds have a poor forward pack...I like Oledski but that's about it...a couple of promising youngsters but not much size about them...
If our lads can win the forward battle then the edge Leeds have in the backs on paper could be somewhat negated. I'd absolutely bombard Walker with high kicks and plenty of pressure too because from looking a world beater coming through a few seasons back the injury and time out looks to have taken it's toll and he looks to have an error or two in him and could lose confidence very quickly...
