Wow.
It takes a special kind of "thinking" to come up with that.
Well done.

I think you have to look carefully at the wording. The proposal was up to 4,000 Standing, maximum without showing proof of vaccinations/ negative test. There is nothing regarding seated and hospitality numbers at sporting venues, are they included in the 4,000? I think not. I’m sure it’s will become clearer in the next few days.

dboy, do you have a link regarding the *valid to date”? There is nothing on my document re this, and I’ve looked online, the only information found is a article in the Times, mostly about overseas travel, and state valid for 365 days from date of issue, can’t find any related to uk expiration dates.

If you go into the NHS app you can request a pass for domestic issues it gives you a QR code valid for a month and you also get it emailed as a hard copy.

| As RWB says, it has an expiry noted below the QR code.
My code generated on Monday, for example, expires on 14th January (at 6.29pm to be exact).

There’s a bar code top of the document with the numbers/ letters below it, a big arrow at the side and the words *This is your unique reference, use this to confirm your NHS Covid pass.
Nothing about expires dates.
Hopefully won’t need to use it any time soon, I’ll make a few enquiries.

You need to register that code to generate the covid pass - then you'll have an expiry date on the QR that it generates.

Considering the ageing support base for RL, the lack of technology and/or unwillingness to use it, will certainly hit attendance numbers (assuming that we are allowed to attend).
People will just do other stuff that doesn't require jumping through as many hoops.
Plus, we saw how many fans were reluctant to return to games when the restrictions lifted this season and with numbers of positive tests starting to climb rapidly, it's going to be extremely difficult to maintain or increase attendances and work out just how to entice the stayaway fans to attend.

Must say I agree, It doesn't take much to give some fans an excuse to stop watching that's for sure and Covid is probably the ultimate.
The obvious way is to win things but I think we will leave that for now,
Another way is to vastly enhance the matchday experience, hence the importance of today.
The third and most important way and one I think the club has truly embraced is to make Trinity far more than just a RL club. Community is an overused phrase but within its limitations, Trinity is slowly embedding itself into the community. This will of course be vastly enhanced by the East stand and new 4G pitch.
Eventually, I hope it will become second nature for the young folk of Wakefield to at least try watching RL at some point. This will happen hopefully because we have embedded ourselves so deeply into their young minds that we are a part of them. Some will fade away quickly but so long as we can keep a steady flow we will do ok,
However, without the prompt resolution of Covid, this will be extremely difficult. But whilst ever there remains the hysteria around this illness then we will struggle. I said it on another thread, the politicians, scientists, media and even certain posters on here need to step back and look at the damage they are causing. Life is a balancing act, always has been and although it's easy to say if like me you have so far not been affected, the balance is wrong at the moment.
The point where we had to make peace with the virus has long passed in my opinion. The damage the virus does to a relatively small number of people is IMHO far outweighed by the damage caused by the reaction. We are now tearing down the very fabric of our society to hide from a disease that in truth is way down the list of fatal ailments. It's a collective madness,
Funny isn't it that in China, the origin of the virus has been operating normally for nearly two years since the initial outbreak. It hasn't folded under the strain so who exactly is kidding who on this one.
Nothing about the reaction of the west to Covid makes sense. I have no great conspiracy theory but to me, our response seems to have been totally out of proportion since day1. We have effectively bankrupted ourselves in almost every way fighting a shadow.
So back to your main point, we are a bit stuffed until the nation comes to its senses.

| I wonder whether the answer to your question about China is that they actually do as they are told when restrictions come in, so that they work.
But even then, now I've looked, they have just applied new restrictions:
"Beijing: China’s economically important Zhejiang province wrestled on Tuesday with a COVID-19 outbreak that has caused some districts to shut down businesses and left hundreds of thousands of people facing quarantine or other restrictions.
Although Chinese case counts are miniscule compared to other major economies, officials in Zhejiang have employed the country’s signature mass testing blitz and targeted lockdowns with concern high over fresh outbreaks as Beijing gears up to host the Winter Olympics in February."

That's the crux, are they or aren't they, how you view the China situation depends on what you believe where that nation is concerned, far more so than any other.

Oh absolutely.
The point is though, in a society as tightly run as theirs, when they get an outbreak they tell everyone to get tested and isolate, and they do it.
Same scenario here and everyone complains that they can't go to a nightclub and ignore the rules.
