He originally went there because 1) we needed a prop badly and 2) his defense wasn't that consistent.

He seems to have improved the defense which might also reflect on Arundal being there rather than Toops but he deserves his spot.

For me he and Pitts start and right now I think I put Batch above Ashurst.

Was talking to Kay on Monday night and he said 9 is the position he is going for next season

Think kershaw and Kaye have been excellent, we currently don’t have an established interchange hooker - something Kaye could become as he has that bit more pace than Walker -

Walker provides good cover at hooker or at loose, be very interesting to see if we keep any of the unsigned players - all else being equal would love to see kershaw and Hampshire remain

Still think priority is a prop although where/how you sign one i wouldn’t know

So unless one or both Woods are leaving the next year we have the following available to play at 9.

Kay and Walker obviously have other positions but that still leaves four.

Sure I have seen K Wood off to York.

The obvious advantage of having Kay at 9 is that he can cover in the backs if we lose a player with injury rather than having to move one of the second row to centre.
