Massive loss if he went but if he wants to who can blame him and no point in keeping somone who dont want to be here.least we should get fee for him...if the rumours are true of course

I had heard rumblings about this but i was under the impression it was for next season? Still, could be wrong.

If it is true and he goes we will not get a fee but we will save on his salary. I got the impression from a report in the papers that he was fed up with the teams attitude being questioned because he believes they are better than last season’s team.

I must be watching a different Joe Westerman because I just don’t get what everyone sees in him. Let him go and give Crowther the thirteen shirt. Use his wages on a decent hooker.

Same, I heard its for next season as he will be out of contract.

For all he is integral to us now, I would be disappointed if he were our lead 13 next year. We need to be better than that - that's not a sleight on him, just on eye on our future progress.

If Cas want him now, pay up. If they want him next year, then that surely is a lack of ambition on their part.

I suppose typical Joe Westerman if true.
He’s been good for us so prefer him to stay.
He’s one of our better forwards!
Surely would have to be replaced if it’s true!

There are two things that have conspired to make this so.

1: I think his quality of play and general attitude has been far better than any of us expected. Certainly in my case.

2. The general standard of play from the rest of the team has so deteriorated in the last 18 month, it means that even an ageing Westerman still looks a level above.

What I suspect may have happened is an all-mighty bust-up amongst the players and Westerman has found himself isolated and this is not the first time in his career.

What we as fans can’t always see is that a good player doesn’t always fit the team. Now I know it was a fag end game against a week HKR but it was the only game last season where we looked anything like the free-flowing Trinity team of 2017/18.
Westerman didn't play, but Fifita played in that game.

Pure speculation but two huge egos, go figure.

That said no idea if true, no excuse for last week etc etc but if he wants out then bye-bye as I agree he’s nowhere near that good that we need to make him a special case.

Must admit you'd think so but stranger things have happened.

If he left now why would no fee be involved he is under contract with us
