| On his day he is a very classy operator who I would think would be picking for a starting shirt but I’m concerned that he is another signing for signings sake like Gigot was.
Much more of a wingers centre who is very good at creating space for his centre and sometimes that’s something we have struggled with at times, however his injury record is a concern.
All signings are gambles but this in my opinion would be a bigger gamble than most and I hope that is reflected in his salary.

Not sure I get the Gigot analogy, he’s way more solid and reliable. Probably look more at Atkins for comparisons.

By Gigot type signing I mean signing a player because he is available rather than signing a player we need.

| The experts on here on rugby league make me howl, he would be a quality acquisition. Listening to some we should be signing half the NRL. Don’t want to burst anybody’s bubble but we are the poorest club in super league, let’s be grateful we can get Somebody of his class. Whoever we sign there’s always someone who disses it.

Best of it is, most of those ok here saying it would be a class signing were those saying he was awful at Toronto lmao

I don’t think we could complain at that back line. You’ve then got Walker, Kershaw, Arundel, Croft, Senior, Kay and Hampshire all with substantial first team experience to come in if needed. Some quality and depth in the backs if it comes off.

Was just chatting to my pal about possible line ups if/when he signs and the reasoning behind it.
Came up with the same centre and wing combination.
My thinking was that they are all big lads who make decent yards.
You could possibly paper over the cracks of not signing another Prop in relation to meters gained with those 4 bringing the ball back with aggressive carries early in the sets.
If he is confirmed I would in the least bit surprised to see Kay depart to a non SL club or Senior return to Huddersfield after a few rounds on the season.

I still think we need another prop, but with Battye on board it’s not as urgent. I reckon we’ll even be a few weeks into the season before we bring one in. And even though I prefer him in the second row, I can see Tanginoa being one of the four with Arona, Fifita and Battye. It’d leave Pitts, Ashurst and Batch for the second row. I’m more optimistic than I was a few weeks ago.

| Chase plays on the right, so is actually covering Lyne.
I'm sure they can move around but the only one I've seen play both sides effectively is Arundal.

Again, I don’t know how true the rumour is, but if it does come off we might see Arundel used more in the second row. Chester has used him there a few times in the past.

| Quote: vastman "In what way is it a kick in the teeth for Croft. He isn’t owed a season because he stepped up last year. He will have to fight for his place just like everyone else. You might as well say signing Tanginoa was a kick in the teeth for Batchelor.
We need as strong a squad as possible and Chase is in all fairness a few steps up from where Croft is right now. He’s also 10 years younger so if he’s good enough his time will come.
That said I’m really not fussed who we sign now, I’m confident we have enough depth and experience to see us through the season injuries aside. Any additions are welcome but unless they are current internationals they are not vital.'"
Batch has more or less proved himself as a first teamer, and its only injury that has held him back. He showed signs towards the end of the season that he was getting back to something like his potential promised.
Tanginoa isnt the wrong side of 30 and still had lots to prove. He also offers something that no homegrown player could.
We have two strong centres with an competent back in Arundel (recovery permitting).
Stanley I see as a overseas signing with nothing to prove and being the wrong side of 30 will trundle along, not offering the value our limited spend requires.
Croft career hasn't got started, hes well down the list now so should be loaned out, but with doubts about the Championship starting with out fans it could be another wasted development year for him.

Those would be the imaginary people in your head would they?
I spend nearly as much time on this forum as you do and I’ve never seen anyone comment about him in anyway, either negative or positive.
As ever you just tell lies, tragic individual that you are.

But that’s not a slap in the face that’s just how it is. No coach is going to wait for a talent to mature if someone eminently better comes along, it simply doesn’t work like that.
Let’s be honest here, Croft looked promising last year, he didn’t however look a certainty. He’s not a TJ, the jury is still very much out on this lad. I wouldn’t want to be depending on him this season, not yet.
Good news is that all the players in front of him are knocking on, including Stanley. Crofts time will come quicker than you think as those players start to drop away.
You also say trundle, which is odd, because Croft from what I’ve seen is not exactly quick for a youngster. If he were an electric centre I may agree with you but so far he’s done quite well without actually setting the house on fire. Sorry but much as I back our youngsters it’s not right to over egg them, if they are good enough they will eventually make it - see Crowther and Jowitt - it’s brutal I know but it’s how it’s always been.
Hope Croft makes it but I’m far more bothered that the team is the best we can put out and that finally we might actually win something

| Just think we should be positive about getting someone on board with 110 NRL games . About staying up and playing in the revamped stadium in Superleague. If he progresses Croft will get his chance . Still better to use such as him sparingly and develop them steadily.
