Quote: wakefieldwall "They said the plans were scaled back so assume this may mean the exec boxes were not included in the stand. Possible there is scope to install these later at the rear of the stand.

The 4G pitch I believe Carter mentioned going in the car park area.'"

Can still cater for corporates without boxes nowadays ie use of conference facilities and corporate seats which happens a lot at football. Sounds like we are leaving south and west in this phase so who knows.
This is the most important development for the club in years, brilliant news.

Looks like they will carry on using the flats, there not that bad inside and with a lick of paint will look fine. I recon they have a few years left in them, let's hope so.

Not sure that's can happen, I would assume that with an enlarged stand planning would demand more not less parking?

Sure it will all become clearer.

From Wakefield Trin site..

"Most importantly however, this phase of our redevelopment plans will provide multi-functional community facilities including conferencing and banqueting space and a café. The 4G pitch will also be available for community use as well as providing an all year-round venue for our first and youth teams.”

I was told categorically by experts on here that ‘oh no the North stand has to come down, blah blah’.

Real experts told me it could be sorted reasonably easily. 1 - 0 to the real experts.

Just be re-profiled and levelled out and firmed up a bit - it was always that straight forward. Basically you’ll be able to get about without tripping up.

Not quite that simple but you get the idea.

Hope they put the hallowed turf up for sale. Would love about 20m2 in my back garden. Could provide a bit of pocket money for the club. What is the going rate for turf About £5 per m2??? thats 100 x 50 x5 = £25k!

If not I will be turning up at the final game with a Pizza Cutter and trowel.

Well at last some very good news and hopefully some concrete go forward at last.
What a shame it’s took so long and a so much hard work by the club and other individuals to get what at best is very little of what we all stood in front of the city hall for all those years ago and that although it will never go any further, we all now know (if we didn’t anyway) how corrupt and useless our councils are and how far developers will go to just keep taking and taking from local areas with no care for them.
So happy for us as a club.
Shame on those who have profited or tried to profit at the clubs and local people expense. Still not really seeing any real community plans like them that were supposed to be built on the Newmarket land and doubt there ever will be.
Hopefully we can eventually sort the whole of the stadium to be as good as the east stand, else this is a real kick back rather than the club changing stadium that we were promised.
But for now this is a massive win and go forward for us. But it’s still not what was promised and shame on those who have made us accept this instead of the promised vision.

As long as reprofiled means filling in the broken bits then I agree with my absolute zero expertise. The problem is its old and has broken underneath so they'll need to break the top and relay it. I assume that's what you mean.
Can't think that is a massive job.

Looking forward to my new fancy seat in the east stand.
Pity the pitch has to go but its understandable if they want to use it for community as well as just us

Great new. Time to start emailing our local councillors in support of the planning application. It seems we should also support the Newmarket development, part of our funding is dependent on their application being passed.
East stand, North stand, Rolling shack to be done first. I think this is too much work to do in one off season, but I’m no expert. No mention South end hospitality boxes or West terraces.
God, how I hope this all comes to fruition. West a014.gif

From what I was told in my SWAG days there are numerous ways to mend it. The cheapest and easiest involves getting rid of loose or rotten bits then creating wooden forms and pouring super string concrete over the top. The only issue here is it won’t increase the stands capacity as its cosmetic.

However for me this is all it needs. Remember the stand has a safety certificate so decrepit though it looks it is amazingly structurally sound, that’s the bit people forget. It’s been reinforced and underpinned twice in the last 25 years. So no major structural work is required unless we intend to increase capacity or add extra permanent structures.

As I say all will be made clear. Perhaps those who made social media such an unpleasant place for MC are now regretting it. A year ago he’d have been on here answering all our questions. Oh well.
