That’s true
They are both still incredible players
I watched there game last week
I’d actually say they are both even better players than they were before they retired internationally

| Natural born try scorers the pair of them.
I think their Dad played for Australia while still an amateur.

What you mean like Liam Finn, fans never seem to learn. Players mature at different rates and to different degrees.
Some like Kay always have natural ability but don’t get the game til later in their career. This is why coaches pick the squad and fans don’t.
Coaches know these players inside out, they know them personally and from hours of video analysis and other lines of investigation. We as fans have nowhere near that level of information.
Kay always had the ability, if our coaching staff now think he’s the player we need that’s fine by me. This is after all the same Liam Kay the fans were having a hissy fit about when we let him go five years ago, fickle or what!
As for who he’s played for, utterly irrelevant, if some fans had their way we’d only sign big name players. We can’t afford that and they are often crap. If he does have quality it will show in the end.
That said I have no idea if we are interested.

| We’d all like to see a team bristling with superstars but unfortunately we have to cut our cloth Accordingly, and that’s how it’s always been at Wakefield.MC has kept our heads above water thus far by shrewd signings and players wanting to prove a point, and I think Liam falls into the latter . If it comes off hooray, if not we move on and look for the next player that fits the bill, some work out and some don’t .
I wait and see but have always had faith in the club to do the right thing on and off the field

Plus the ball usually stops at Crichton or Manu and very rarely gets out to Hall when he's on the wing.

You do realise that this phrase is patented for use about Bradford? We get royalties and everything.

Exactly and that just emphasises what BLM says, the twins have too much class to be kept out of the game irrespective of the position they're asked to play.

| Signings and fans expectations fall into two categories at Wakey:
1. Players the fans aren't overwhelmed by but who turn out to be a real find.
2. Players who fans think are a great signing but who end up disappointing.
The club get it right with the unsung more than they get it right with the great expectations.

That about sums it up for me as well Slugger.
In the present climate I am extremely grateful for the players we have on the books. Even losing Danny Brough may seem like a blow, but we've hardly seen the best of him for one reason or another since last year; the loss of him also opens the way up for such as RH to make a claim and show what he can do.

Say what you like about Kay his try scoring record is up there with TJ much of it in SL, almost a try a game. Whether he could make it as a H/b I can’t say but as a winger he is right up there. With MCB gone BJB very rusty he’s great cover, better than Kershaw that’s for certain and I like.

I just followed that link and can't believe that try scoring record. That's a pretty impressive record and on that basis I would certainly have him back but he'd have to get rid of that pony tail! Haha...just jealous.

| Only 9 of Liam’s games and 5 of his tries have been in superleague, the rest have been in the lower divisions. 4 of those 5 tries are against Cas though so brownie points for that.

He can thank big Ali for the three he scored down at Bellevue, he certainly made him look good that day.

There's the old cliche that 'you can only play what's in front of you.'
He still scored the tries, regardless of the opposition. I can remember many wingers at BV, when we were in the lower divisions who needed sat nav to show them where the line was.
