| to those that have never read it I can strongly recommend former Wakefield MP, David Hinchliffe's book, "They Walked On Water". It's his own personal account of that day in 1968, and opinions on the match and what occurred. A local playwright produced a play based on the book and it was performed at the Trinity Cats bar a couple of years ago. Brian Lockwood played a part in the play. The book is available on a well-known internet auction site.
ps I'm not on commission!!!

| Like I’ve mentioned before, I can’t watch it, the telly cost me too much money to put my foot through it. Also the thought of my grandmother crying all the way back home, probably why I detest Leeds to this day.

| I'll watch it again (rugby league fix) just to see if I remember it correctly. It seemed to me Don took a bit longer run up for a kick under the posts. maybe just the conditions

| Was there as well right behind the sticks. Sickened. I will try and watch it but remember the feeling of we was robbed. At least I have had the pleasure of watching Trin since 1960. So I have seen the the golden years.

I was also stood behind the sticks. What a dreadful journey home that was.

| Isn't this the documentary that Big Neil didn't like, as he didn't like the portrayal of Don. I think Foxy then didn't undertake some RL 'event' because of it.
My memory is a little hazy on this (and many other things!), so I could be wrong.

We watched it the first time around, last year, as I was only 3 in 1968, so wasn't aware of all the controversy, but it made my blood boil when I saw what actually occurred
Agree FIL.
Only ever watched the missed kick - have no intention of watching the full game.
As you say typical Dirty Leeds - always seem to get those decisions.......

| I will be watching it, my dad went to the game I was was 8 at the time but didn't go with him don't know why maybe a blokes day out and didn't need me hanging on to his shirt, he passed away 27 years ago so knowing he was there will make me feel a little closer in memories, bless him remember he fetched home a rosette and a little trophy in which I took to school and at play times played for that trophy

Was in the same boat Snowie and age, but it was my grandma, went to every game at home and plenty away, my grandad was a rugby widower. She told me some great stories but always came back to the Watersplash game hence she hated Leeds with a passion bless her.

| Ended up watching the documentary again, fuming and even arrogance from Leeds players all them years ago. I bet Don wanted to stick one on Colemam during the interview, I felt like it just watching it.

A fantastic and well deserved Leeds win , an obvious penalty try , the referee had the courage to make the correct call , Wakefield fans still bleating about losing , deary me .

| I was born in 1956 and my dad took me to the game. I dont remember the journey down ot back, it could have been on the train. Remember staying after the game and my dad fuming .
Its part of our history and i can understand the reasons for Trinity fans not wanting to see it but we lost for reasons beyond the clubs control , never a penalty try in this world and also bringing play back and awardding trinity a penalty when in a scoring position on two occasions very dubious.
I know hepplethwaite committed suicide but wasnt he also related to Shoebottom .
