| For those who like spotting little errors in films and the like; just watch when Richard Harris jumps off the bus at the top of Westgate. The bus is a Leeds City Transport AEC, which have never run in Wakefield. And er yes, I WAS a train spotter also.  |

The street scenes were shot in Leeds, I believe, EW. Some of the scenes with William Hartnell were filmed at the old Thrum Hall ground of Halifax RLFC. |

Great stadium was thrum hall it was where I introduced my Mrs to the game on a very cold snowy winters day when fax played Wigan and lydon did a drop goal from the half way line to win in the dying seconds |

I thought it was supposed to be rubbish with a slope that made Post Office road look like a bowling green? Never saw it myself, do like their new ground it’s spot on. |

Thrum Hall sloped from touchline to touchline rather than tryline to tryline. A hostile 'orrible place and the scene of Wally's last appearance for Trinity. Once saw Tony Garforth of Halifax ( ex Trinity) trying to climb over the wall at the back of the sticks to get at a Wakey fam who'd been abusing him. Fortunately for said fan, Garforth was restrained by a team mate. |

Been a while since I've seen the film but there were scenes at the top of Westgate outside the Timothy Whites Chemist and a punch up scene outside the Mecca. I'll have to have another scan through. |

I was there that day and saw that incident. Garforth was obviously incensed at something said to him. pity he didn't display the same aggression on the pitch! |
