Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| I’m afraid I’m with Lampy on this one. For a number of games last season he was our most experienced prop through a tough stretch. For me he should have led from the front and I expected more. He wasn’t bad but was consistently solid or average for the most part. I understand he had an injury and it’s not easy when your pack mates are getting beaten down but he’s the one others will look to as an experienced SL prop.
This year I want to see more from him. With Dave seemingly not back to full fitness yet he’s the pack leader.
I’m hoping he has a good year and I’m not been negative as he was solid last year but I’m hoping he has more to show us.
As for Gwaze. I noticed that he looks a lot trimmer and fitter than last season and it appears to have improved his game somewhat. Might be worth considering him at Loose as well as prop imo. The lad looks to have got himself into great condition though which shows great dedication.

As we are now, I would go:
Walker
TJ
Tupou
Lyne
Rocky
Miller
Brough
Kopczak
J Wood
Tanginoa
Ashurst
Batchelor
Westerman
I'd go with that and that side should be able to give an equally injury-ravaged HKR a game.
NO EXCUSES
Players need to man up.
Fans need to man up.
Some of the defeatism shown on here is embarrassing.

Although he’s not featured in any of the friendlies he’s been by all accounts involved in full contact training for a couple of weeks.
Bit disappointing to go into opening couple of games minus fafita & green. Add to it the loss of king and we look very short upfront if arona doesn’t play. To be missing 3 of your first choice 4 props is unfortunate.
If walker is out we have adequate cover in Hampshire and jowitt.
Unsure if crowther would have made the first 17; but we have plenty of options in back row at minute anyway.
Gwaze from what I have seen is a number of years from been a super league prop. I wouldn’t really want to be seeing him play this season.
Let’s hope kopczak doesn’t pick an injury up in first couple of games.'"
Spoke to Arona at the Hudds game and he said he has been told week 2 but he said he is pushing hard to make it for week 1. Fingers crossed

It'd rather him not push and just make sure he's fit, it's a long season...

| I've lost track of who is in and out now.
I'm thinking Fifita, Green, Arona, King and Tangata are all out.
Kopczak, Tanginoa, Naverette and Gwaze are left?

Would be pretty much my choice , think shifting bill to wing and bringing arundel or Atkins in weakens our most potent attacking threat

The problem is, I'm not sure whether that weapon is back yet. TJ, Tupou and Ashurst is a great partnership we have seen for quite a long time. Will take some rebuilding I think. Hope fans expectations are under control.
I'd like to see Atkins play somewhere.

I think Chester will go with kershaw on the wing. He’s not played Hampshire on wing in any friendly. We also not played lyne with tupou as a combo.
Suspect Chester known jjb was unwell for sometime so could have tried different wing centre combos if need be.
I can’t understand the Atkins signing when we already had trundle contracted as back up.
Hampshire will play full back unless miller not fit where he will revert to 6 with jowitt at 1.
Plenty of options in the backs which is a positive.
Interesting to see the back row choice (ashurst westerman i suspect are first choice with Pitts /batch n kirmo fighting it out for right edge).
Prop situation is desperate

I don't know, Kershaw hasn't really covered himself in glory. Atkins has been good though, I'd play him and push Lyne onto the wing. Rocky at FB, Ashurst and Tanginoa in 2nd row, Kopczak and Tangata up top and Bench of Wood, Westerman, Pitts and Navarette
