Can’t argue with that.
Just out of interest, if the 6000 wakefield folk at the London game turned up for every home game rather than the 4000 who usually do how much extra revenue for players that would produce? I can work it out roughly but I wondered if the club has some sort of formula that tells you exactly as I have no idea on overheads etc.

| Fisherman, dont know if you can read too much into this.
However, I'm sure DC did say words to the effect in 2016-17, that if we could get our average crowds up to the 6000 mark we would spend near on the full cap

To get the crowds up to the 6000 mark, all we need is a team that consistently wins matches playing a great game of Rugby League.
The last bit i think Wakefield Trinity are easily capable of.
If we get the results/wins and are in contention for some sort of silverware i think there would be no problem getting around 6000 average gates.

| I think you're right Kev, and also upgraded facilities will help.
It is also the old adage of marketing though, too

Hopefully upgraded facilities are on there way in the not too distant future.
As far as marketing goes, i think Wakey have made great strides on that score and will continue to improve.

Work on £10 per head and you won’t be far wrong.
10*2000*14=280000 = salary cap spent

| I would have guessed about that, give or take £1 either way, per head.

| A bit off topic not regarding players but.
Is the Cats bar/Rolling shack used in the off season at all for functions etc in which could bring in extra funds for the club.
It would be a great venue for having music bands in and to utilise the premises like what warehouse23 does in town and with good advertising we could take a piece of the pie of what warehouse23 get's and other local gig venue's just a thought.

| Good idea Acko.
I once mentioned it to MC. Also you could have events like quiz nights too.
I recall many years ago, Radio Leeds doing something at what is now Cheers in Outwood, and it was like Question Of Sport, but all contestants were past and present players. It was for charity, but it was successful.
Also didn't we used to do things like An Audience With... etc

As much as I love the idea of using it for bands (Being in one myself) the existing venues cant get a decent crowd in, and are turning away from Live Bands or going down the solo / Acoustic duo route. The only exception being Warehouse 23 which manages to attract decent names and can charge accordingly, but even that has the benefit of being slap bang in the middle of town, something that Belle Vue isn't.

I'm purely guessing here but it wouldn't surprise me if Cats Bars future is a fairly short one. I would imagine it might give way to an all-new all singing all dancing main stand that I'd guess will offer a more prestigious venue, could be miles off though. That's when you might see the events market pursued with more vigour.

TBH I think we had been winning regular and playing well from mid-2016 to May this year and I've seen no obvious improvements in attendances, certainly not 6,000 per game (home fans).
I got shot down by certain posters on here for saying this but the Wakefield public only seems to turn up when its train wreck time as per the London game and even that was helped by cheaper tickets I'm sure.
I think we all know why and that's forty years of mistrust between the club and the Wakefield sporting population. Added to that for reasons I can't begin to explain all Trinity teams for decades have saved their worst performances for the prestige games. the ones that grab supporters, time and time again when we are truly in with a chance to make our reputation when it's our moment to make a mark we shoot ourselves in the foot, it's uncanny.
So yes you're right as far as it goes, so long as we only offer dramatic last-ditch fights as opposed to the odd glorious moment when we win or come really close to winning something then we will continue to struggle. To have not reached a CCup final since 1979, 40 years ago is frankly a disgrace, it's not like we haven't occasionally had the teams to do it.
On a positive note, when I started supporting the club in 2003 we had a hardcore of no more than 2.5k, it's now around 4k, so it is going up, though painfully slowly.
I think at last the club is administered by people of whom most of us feel confident are competent in what they do, sadly 40 years of generally poor management of the club is not easily forgotten.
Finally, we now own the ground and it really looks like something is going to happen in the near future that will hopefully begin BV's transformation into a decent stadium. Just to have one modern stand and a surfaced car park will transform the look of the place from being totally oppressive to quite welcoming and that has got to help attract people.

As much as I love Warehouse as a venue they seem in the main to have covers bands or old bands playing there, great nights one and all but I'd love a venue that put new bands on. The Wakefield public are as apathetic with music as they are with Trinity sadly.

I couldn't disagree more their's 100's of live bands and genre's to choose from atm. I saw limehouse lizzy on Saturday and there are 1st class and on weds i'm going to see a band called Rock Icons in Castleford(spit) who have been normally been going to the thearte royal this last couple of years top class band.
I organizser events for work and privately and this could make a right killing if we (Trin) had the space and willingness to do it or further down the line try to accommedate a function room when we get our ground sorted out for this type of thing.
Back on topic
If we were winning week in week out all so-called wakey fans would come out of the woodwork, All I hear from people I know who don't come is that it's too dear and would rather pay a bit more and watch leedsushizted instead, So your never going to change people's mind set on what their value more if there have not got the Trinity Blood in them.
