If it’s the name I’ve heard that hasn’t been mentioned so far it would be a surprise for sure. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Paul Gallen type players can go two ways, they are either inspirational or hugely disruptive, usually the latter. To be a Paul Gallen you have to be on top of your game because they are that kind of player, anything less will be spotted immediately by the opposition and more importantly their own players. To be a lead from the front all action player you have to be just that.
Brough just about gets away with being a little bit past it by still possessing a set of non age related skills that occasionally win games, but on a bad day, well lets say it doesn’t go unnoticed. PG has no such luxury, he’s a player whose game is hugely based on physicality and endurance, both of which wain over time.
I’m not saying he couldn’t do it, he’s been a truly great player, but he’d better be sure because despite what many think SL is no picnic and it’s proved a graveyard for the reputation of many an NRL ‘star’ in the past.

He wouldn’t be second string if he came, he wouldn’t come if he was.
Williams is a decent HB but his true value is that he’s a known quantity to the club but far more importantly the club is known to him. This simply cannot be underrated, no rude awakening to life in the UK especially in winter. Teammates and opposition you know in a comp you understand, these are issues who’s importance cannot be underestimated.
For me if I were selecting players the above would make up 50% of a quota players desirability before I’d even started looking at the players stats. Basically to sign Williams would be to sign a players who hits the ground running.
No idea if he’s the one but I wouldn’t lose any sleep if he were, he’d be as close to a dead cert good signing as you can get IMO.

Before my time but that's the hope and I think its what we need tbh, if it paid off it would transform our team from good to watch (most of the time) to good to watch and hard to play against. We are short of an intimidating player, Dave tries but Gallon can be really borderline nasty, which you need at times.

Not Paul Gallen no. Heard a different name that’s not been mentioned anywhere. It surprised me though when I heard it.

| I don't think Gallan is the player for us.
Quality player but his motivation would be seriously tested.
13 with Arona coming back does not need filling.
As a prop there are cheaper and younger versions around.
Price was a one off.

| Is this the Sam Williams Who played Salford Who picked up the ball on our 20 meter line then had a clear run to the post & decided he didn't want to run that far so he tackled himself & the guy who played against Huddersfield who couldn't be bothered to go down for the ball & the Hudds player got it & scored, The guy who got beat in a one yard sprint by a snail Yeah lets sign him

You're referring to Tim Smith, arguably our best half back in the last in the last 10 years.
