| Quote: Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo "Considering he's contracted till the end of 2021 I can't see how any situation can be comparable to the Hampshire saga?
It isn't but some people like to do the 'local boy done down' routine and I'm sorry but it doesn't work for me.
Jowitt came through our system and despite the early promise and a heap of bad luck he's yet to cement his place. All the same, he's still got another season at least to prove himself, if thats not the club playing fair I don't know what is.
I have no gripe with Hampshire and would love to have kept him but I don't know the wheres and why's money-wise to truly take sides. What I do know is that Hampshire wouldn't sign for his 'hometown club' as a kid, I have no issue with that as such but he didn't and that's a fact. So unlike Jowitt and Johnston and hopefully a host of others in the future we owe him nothing other than our gratitude for two seasons in which he mostly played well.
Others may see it differently but I see local players as those who come through our junior ranks rather than those who happened to be born in Wakefield but ply there young talent elsewhere. That's their choice and I don't blame them but I certainly feel the clubs juniors are the ones we owe our loyalty to and those who deserve that little bit extra.
Just my opinion.

| Perhaps we have our eye on another overseas player to replace him.
By my reckoning our quota currently consists of:
Tupou
Miller
Fifita
Tanginoa
Arona
Unless I've missed someone then we have some space. Aren't you allowed 7 these days??

| I forgot Pauli Pauli. With regards Hampshire not signing for the club when he first joined the professional ranks the same could be levelled at Chester who also avoided his home town club but in his case for his entire career.

| Hampshire not been signed, leaves us short of cover on wing and in halfs . Hope the club as got there eye on a top half and not brining in a player who can play there now and again .Brough was very hit and miss last year, and is age as cough up with him.Would have kept the two forwards we had brought in on lone than a guy from Hull with a knee problem on a 3 year contract and the forward from London .We have 7 players coming back from injury next season. Was hoping we were signing quality not quantity

| Its a bit of a mixed bag for me. Hes a talented developing player in the squad and maybe that should come with some sort of a higher payment. Maybe rocky sees other players at the club with less of a utility or ability on more money. Hes been an ever present in the team this year and even after the will he or wont he period as not changed his attitude or efforts. I will be very sorry to see him depart and im 100% sure the whole episode could have been conducted more in private , that way we would have been more likely to have seen a better outcome. I think the club and the player will probably have learned a lot from the whole episode. Its a shame to see a local lad with the ability and skills hes got on the move.

That's not strictly true. We just haven't agreed terms yet.

The quote from the club gave no indication that any of the loan signings were being discussed, just thanked for their efforts.
With regards Hampshire I would guess he could go to Hull KR or possibly Salford, I doubt he will be without a club for long. He is English and only 24 I think so I expect he will attract a lot of attention, what we have to look at is his replacement let’s hope it is an improvement because we cannot expect Brough to go on much longer.

Suspect if he's only going to sign if he gets what he thinks he's worth could be longer than you think ........
Although increase in cap may make him more attractive as a second choice at one of the bigger clubs
Am sure the club (who need cover at half back and possibly wing) would have been happy to sign him if they could afford him

| Just seen a tweet from Ryan, stating the first he heard about not staying at the club was on social media. Putting all of this aside for a minute, I find that a little bit poor from the club if that is the case.
