As long as it’s back to Newcastle

| I agree there should be 14 teams in the league and scrap those stupid loop fixtures,or whatever their names are.I would also like a bit more space between being a leadership contender and relegation contender.I would keep Magic Weekend as I have always liked the concept and always feel proud when Trin enter the arena, and I think, yeah, that's MY team!
I have only been to 1 weekend (the last at Newcastle and loved it and would go back there) but watched all the rest on tv.

| At the beginning of the year on 40/20 there was a discussion based on an interview with Robert Elstone
Elstone didn’t see loop fixtures as being a permanent thing, he didn’t give anything more than that
I strongly believe Robert wants a 14 team SL, I think every man and his dogs wants this but it all comes down to money and how it is shared from Sky
As things stand I believe the wolf pack do not receive and funding from sky, I think that’s how it would plan to work going forward too
I think once the wolf pack get in (if they win the NL GF) that there will be an announcement we will go to 14 teams
Essentially guaranteeing no one will be relegated next year
That would leave the doorway open for Toulouse and another side to be promoted
Plus it gets rid of the idiotic January start to the season
That’s how I see it and I’d be v happy with that

Not strictly true, it's done wonders for the game in the NE.

The moving of Magic around the country is/was an ideal way to take the sport to new areas.
The failure only happens because our sport seems unable to market and promote its major events successfully.
When it used to be down in Cardiff, the event should have been used to engage the locals and not just to have a round of fixtures "somewhere else".
Now that the event is in Manchester, attendance numbers may be ok but, what exactly is it achieving ??
Rather than inviting clubs into the comp from halfway round the world, Magic could and should be used to develop areas of the UK where RL has a chance to prosper and then sell it to death and dont just rely on the same group of fans to keep the sport alive. We have to engage new fans.
The same could be done with the Challenge Cup but, keeping it at Wembley is probably just a bit too political to make a change worthwhile.

I like it and I don't think it's run its course, but more importantly, it's a great revenue earner, is our game really in a position to turn that down, I don't think it is tbh. Also, it gives players at lesser clubs a bit of big-game experience, at the end of the day you don't have to go.

| I dont and never have attended. I would however be interested how the money from the mws distributed.
Like I said for people who like it great , for me its another fixture that makes the whole comp a mash. Play each other twice and that's that.

| Hi fishermanscap its just never appealed to me. Im more against the way the fixtures pan out more than the event itself. I just don't get that extra fixture that the M W throws up. I can stay at home watch my team and maybe pick up another 2 or 3 games over the entire weekend.
Like I said to play every team home and away seems the best basis to compose any league table at the end of the season. Also when the fixtures for the season are released if your at home the first game of the season you should be away the last, that would be easy to introduce and could be shared out season after season. You quite often find that some play both fixtures at home and if not nearly always get the last game of the season at home.

The original concept was good and it's great to have the fans of the various clubs mixing together.
Plus, it's "an event" and something different to the weekly rounds.
However, staging Magic in Manchester or Liverpool, isn't exactly spreading the RL gospel, which apart from the "event" is for me, the most important and possibly only reason for having magic at all, other than to fill the RFL coffers and lets face it, they desperately need the cash.
