I watched Hooley in the Summer bash game, can’t say he impressed tbh. You would expect him to be standing out a bit by now. I know it’s only one game but I was hoping for more.

The two try savers in the first half, especially the one against Yaha, were absolute top efforts.
Two certain tries denied by a lad who "cant tackle". The lad was outstanding and kept us in the game.
Absolutely agree on the two try savers
Technically perfect tackle from max on and over the try line

| If Ryan Hampshire (and his agent) decide to sign the extension before Friday then we will probably see Hampshire at full back, if not Max will get the shout.

| Call me naive but I reckon CC will pick the team based on who he thinks will win the game for him.

I’m not sure of contract legalities, if Hampshire doesn’t resign by midnight Friday, will he still be eligible to play until the end of season?
Thank you

Yes he will still be able to play but it allows him to talk to other clubs at the end of May if he chooses.

If Hampshire really wanted to stay at Wakefield I would have thought he would have signed his contract by now. I would imagine he has been offered a financial deal comparable to others in the team of similar ability.

Don’t see it that way. I’m sure he wants to sign for Wakefield as much as the next but to some players the bottom line is money. Seems to be the issue with this lad throughout his career. Not a judgement as it’s his life but I suspect he’ll take negotiations to the limit.

Yeah, that's what I was really inferring!
Obviously, I want him to stay but not at any cost!

No, absolutely not. There are some on here who push his case as the next Johnathon Thurston but seriously he’s nowhere near the player they claim him to be. At best he has potential and is quick off the mark but that applies to loads of players.
One thing is for sure should he not sign is that some will paint it as the greatest disaster ever to befall the club when it simply won’t be. Personally I have Jowitt further up my keep list.

He took a long time to sign for this season.

| I look at it like this, I have heard what he has been offered but not 100% sure if true but from an extremely reliable source.
However its hard to compare how good the offer is unless you have a benchmark to make a comparison.
If I was Hampshire and I was offered the same as Miller I would consider that about fair. If it was much less I would not be happy considering as a player I have better utility value including place kicking skills that Miller doesn't bring.
However it would all be irrelevant if there is no other club who would give me what I considered my worth.

Can’t agree. If Miller is on better money it’s because he’s proved himself as a player and his loyalty has been proved.
This is what I don’t get about the pro Hampshire lobby so to speak. They seem to want to reward him in advance purely for his potential and the spurious fact that he’s from Wakefield even though he refused to join us as a junior or until he was in the last chance saloon.
It’s seems to me we give him far more than he has so far returned.
Your opinion about Miller is subjective, personally I don’t think Hampshire is even close at the moment. Miller is back from injury so he’s not likely to be full throttle just yet.
I am aware of Millers shortcomings but to disregard his contribution to this team for some Jonny come lately doesn’t sit well with me. Your obviously entitled to your own opinion.
