| Happy birthday Johnny. One of the greatest stalwarts our club has ever known. Cut through him and I'll better it says trinity. Had the pleasure of a one of performance as trinity physio in 1998 and chatted with him quite a bit on the journey to Villeneuve. Great memories
PS wouldn't like to be one of the physio team at the moment! Hope you can perform the miracles that are always expected!!

| Wonder if he recalls being poked in the eye by Bob Eccles at Wilderspool, might even have been in the Challenge Cup. He ended up in the neighbouring bed to me at Pinders for a few days. Had some lovely pork and mint sauce sarnies brought in. Told me that, as he was leaving the pitch, a Warrington fan observed "About time someone ted you Thompson!" (JT quote) Had soime big lads visiting him. Oddly enough I had loads of folk wanting to visit me suddenly!
Happy Birthday JT.

| Just wondering with Foxy being 80 and having had a very long career and JT being 60 and coming up through the ranks did they ever play together?

No.
Johnny might have played against Neil when at Bradford in his last year but certainly not at Wakefield.
I guess JT might have been there as a junior when Neil was there. But unlikely.

| Just checked.
Wakefield played Bradford in JTs debut season when Neil played but JT wasn't selected for that game.
JT made his debut at Headingley on Boxing Day 78.
John Holmes, David Ward and Les Dyl era at Headingley.
He was sub and came on to play second row along side the great Trevor Skerret. With Topliss leading the team of course.

That’s a shame as there would have been a certain poetry to it.
