I'll save my money for those games then.

| we've all seen players squaring up to each other in the run up to the super league final and some very heated into brawls but when it gets to playing for England they all stand side by side and are passionate for the team, time to stop being jealous of other teams with their players being selected before ours, things are changing were getting players noticed.
wish you'd stop feeling sorry for your selves and get on board, I too wanted Tom into the team and yes he should of been selected before a player that is out of his natural position give it time

| Disappointing - but not unexpected; it's clear that TJ has done what he needed to do in terms of impressing the coach, but it's hard to argue with Makinson - he's a cracking player, and perhaps has more of the attributes that Bennett thinks will be required to beat NZ. He certainly returns the ball with more threat, and is probably a better defender right now.
No doubt that TJ will be a future international - he's made sure of that with his debut.

Nail on head and what has Makinson done to deserve being dropped, just imaging the furore on here if it was the other way round.
As for going to see England, or not, any test against the Kiwis is a great game and with their "lost" players coming back, this will be a tight series and well worth £25, whether Trinity players feature or not.
I was lucky enough to be at Leigh for Johnstones debut and he couldn't have done any more to stake his claim for a place against the Kiwis but, his time will definitely come.
He's a class athelete and excellent RL player and it will be a privilege to see him rip the worlds best to pieces.
Be patient folks and enjoy it when it happens.

I agree with this, although a little disappointed for Tom, he'll get his time. He's younger than the others and is already in contention. Hopefully, we get 2-0 up and he can play in the last game.
You could say Makinson was next in line but wasn't he a sub when he last played and Hall and Mcgillvery were the wings?

I think you're right, although that still makes him "next in line".
Like you, I'm disappointed that Johnstone isnt in, especially as we already had tickets for the first test but, the lad is withing a cats whisker of getting the spot and if we're honest, he still has some improvement in him (in defence). Going forward, he is one of the most exciting players that we've seen in the last 15/20 years.Pace, balance, strength and pure athleticism. Let's hope that he gets the nod for at least one of the tests.

I've still got my tickets and can't wait to see our boys play for England against the kiwis
It's fantastic that's it's got a 2.30 kick off slot on the BBC too

| i am gutted for Tom, and realise he could not have done any more to stake his place.
There is no doubt that if hall was fit, he would have been in, regardless of form.
i know we are all passionate wakey fans, but if you read other forums / facebook groups you will realise it is not just us that are baffled by this decision. plenty of opposing fans have high praise and respect for tom and think he should play.
i still want england to win, but i would enjoy the win more if tom was there

Now these comments don’t look too smart, I’d expect some humble pie to be eaten.
Who will you be supporting in the third test?
Still been traitors or crawling back to the England camp?

And you wanna break our walls down

| Makinson had the game of his life to be fair. No shame in our boy being behind in him (or McGillivary) in the pecking order at the moment, doesn't make Johnstone any less of a player, it just makes him pretty unlucky. When was the last time Enlglan/GB had 4/5 quality wingers to pick from?

You can’t be like that with him, he’s right. Where I understand what you were getting at with the Makinson comment; he had the game of his life today and was rightly picked.

Agree Makinson did and with Tom still being young it's no shame like you say that he's behind the other quality wingers we have at the moment - it's a great place to be for England with a WC a few years out, we're really building a good squad of players nowadays under Bennett, none of which would let you down in case of injuries - as we've seen this series.
What is funny though is the trolls obsession with anything Trinity posters say. A few years ago no one gave a monkeys, now it's a big deal to some. Yet he's made a song and dance about it on here and the VT but the fact is there's only one post from someone saying they hoped he had a mare and Wakefield before Country, the others don't say that in fact just about everyone says the opposite but it doesn't suit their agenda.

Spot on post Tommy, he made a couple of blinding try saving tackles as well. Can't remember him putting a foot wrong.
