I have no issue with O'Loughlin being in the team. Like him or loathe him, the guy is outstanding. Maybe just past his best but I doubt there's a better inspiration and influence to his team mates when he's on the pitch. Greg Bird doesn't even come close on or off the pitch.

You're probably right there. IMO he's been more consistent than Casty throughout the season. I said before that Thompson and Fifita for me have been the best Props in the League this season
Like you I'm really pleasantly surprised about Ashurst. We all know how incredibly consistent he is and generally how underrated he's been while he's been with us, plus there are a few good Second rows knocking around, so I'm delighted for the bloke.
Tom and Tupou were almost shoe-ins after their seasons imo. |

On Cas, it's an example of having a high performing team rather than high performing individuals.
You could in theory have the second best player in every position. You wouldn't be represented in the dream team but it's pretty likely you'd be in the Grand Final.

It's great to see all 3 in there - but Ashurst is the most pleasing; the guys an absolute dynamo and although he plays in one of the least glamorous positions on the field, he never shirks and rarely puts a foot wrong. Class player - one of our best signings in quite some time.
