| Have to admit it wasn't one of Jowitt's better games. He took some good high balls, but tactically several mistake were made. Knowing CC I think he'll put Grix in for the next game. We should have sewn the game up in the first twenty minutes when several scoring chances came to nothing. I also cannot see why we don't seem to get the ball out to BJB or TJ. We seemed to start losing it from the point that Huby took that short kick over the line on, I think, the third tackle. Saints came alive after that.
Not the best of games this season.

| Give over, from 16-0 down it was always going to be difficult. We got back in the game and i thought the Pauli knock on from the set after we scored was a real killer - There was still 20 on the clock. We had plenty of opportunities in the first half to post points but couldn't convert yet saints went into the sheds 16-0 up.
Season is no doubt over but let's not forget spending £450k under the cap and been in the top 8 for 3 years following the MPG is some achievement.
It's the best time as a TRIN fan for 20+ years.
Onwards and upwards!!

| I don't get the season over thing.
It's no different now to what it was a day ago.
We are aiming for 5th.
As for Jowitt he made some mistakes but they didn't cost us the game. We had chances we didn't convert and they did.
Saying that, the miracle ball to the wings people want comes from Grix's run into the line. He has a better angle and better pass than Jowitt. Max has done it sometimes but with a team pushing up too quickly he couldn't get the ball away.

| Max was poor tonight but a few where too and it wasnt just his mistakes he seemed to mistime his run into line when attacking a few times has grix been playing we of scored a couple in the first 20 mins.has for wingers well today we saw what we all know already how centres are based on power rather than flair thats not me knocking either reece or billy thought billy was one our best tonight but there not known for passing abilty.halfbacks let us down for me never really created owt when attacking didnt seem to have any structure or didnt take control thats why huby had to kick on the last tackle.
All in all though think we did ok

| so he's had a bit of a poor game tonight, so shall we now undo all the work done and drop him or at lest let him redeem him self in the next game,
if there was one complaint to make I would ask him why he didn't catch the ball in the air over Tom
quite a few handling errors by a few players tonight

| Our undoing were the handling errors on first or second tackle, I think there were 5 and each time under no pressure, which gifted Saints soft possession.
Yes there were 2, maybe 3 defensive howlers, with the last Saints try being the worst of all.
No patience in the first half and the worst aspect was not making Saints work for the win.
WE had one decent spell in the second half and that came to an end with the Pauli knock on on half way.
Really disappointed as Saints didn't have to work hard enough for their points.
We should have battered them in he forwards all night until they were done and then taken advantage.
Having said that, they took their chances well and deserved the win

| Makinson certainly showed why he is in the England squad.
Great try when he leaped above Jowitt and TJ to get the ball on the full.

| I'd like to refer to the OP to this fixture last year in the Super 8's when Mr Grix didn't deal with the ball in the in goal area......
So do me a favour and give Max a break.....

| I think both Jowitt and also TJ had fairly average at best games and I fully expect Jowitt to sit out a few weeks and rightly so.
The thought that TJ is an injury or 2 away from lining up against Kiwi or Australian international players in an England shirt frightens me. As good and exciting as he is going forward his decision making and positioning in defence is poor at best. Worryingly it doesn’t seem to be getting better.
Neither of these lads though I feel we’re responsible for the loss. The respective benches changed the game. The Trinity interchange doesn’t really change the game up. Like for like players come off the field and enter the field.
When the Saints rotated they brought something a little different from the lads they replaced and it took us a little off guard and the damage was done in that second 20 of the first half.

| Jowitt didn’t have a great game but it wasn’t purely down to him that we lost, he had a few other comrades who were just as much to blame. He shouldn’t be thrown under the bus by Chester and dropped for Grix based on one game but i’d bet Good money thats exactly what happens.

| The saints tries came off our inability to stop the offload with 3 men in the tackle and three kicks we simply did not compete for
The game management was not great either with the wrong players ending up with the ball on the last tackle on more than one occasion. Last week at Hull we built pressure with repeated sets by forcing numerous drop outs, but tonight we just didn’t seem to have the patience/execution to do the same.
Chester clearly wasn’t happy and was frustrated by the performance which is understandable in that two bad spells allowed saints to score most of their points

No not rightly so. Seasoned professionals are just as capable of having an off day but don't get dropped, don't see why Jowitt is any different.

| You can't have it both ways.
When Grix made mistakes everyone called Chester out for not dropping him for wonder boy Jowitt.
Now Max has made mistakes it's unfair if Chester drops him.
He can't be immune. That won't do his development any good at all.
Both bring positives to the team. It's a difficult decision for Chester.

| Poptart .. perhaps Jowitt ( young player) should be given the chances Grix ( experienced player) has had over the last few seasons . I really don’t understand the dropping of young talented players .. how do they learn from their mistakes ? Any frailties Max or TJ or anyone else has needs Chester to coach and help them sort them out .
