| Finn has been excellent for us in the past but I feel that he is now playing for a contract rather than having his injury fixed.
This is not working as his injury is stopping him playing to the level that is expected of him.
If I was the coach I would insist on surgery now as we have cover and Finn would be back for the business end of the season.
In my opinion Finn contributed massively to our defeat at Huddersfield by being too slow.
His constant turning the ball inside made us too predictable and I also felt that he pulled out if more than one hits due to his concern over his injury.
We need to look at the bigger picture. Finn is important to us but needs to be fixed up now rather than at the end of season.
In is current predicament he is affecting our play.

| I'm not sure who we can get in to replace him, Matty Smith is a good shout. I've always liked how Peter Wallace plays but fear he is also coming to the end of his career.

| It looks like Finn is currently in a "perfect storm" at the moment.
He is not the quickest anyway
He is carrying an injury
He is under extra pressure due to Grix injury.
Unfortunately this is leading to some very poor play decisions and execution.
Whether the natural succession is Hampshire and Jowitt i am not sure. Both are certainly keen and are good in defence.
They play with a lot of pace but are a bit like headless chickens. The thing that both need to focus on is the composure in attack and picking the right pass or kick, and making sure the 5th tackle plays are much more effective than they currently are.
It would not surprise me if we get a long run now with this New spine, so hopefully that composure and the combinations will start to come together.
BUT
It will take some time.
Personally i think we will still make the 8 ok. But Chester needs to give these 2 some really clear guidance.

| I suppose it's the same with most players when they have a few bad games, people trot out the same stuff. Finn has always been slow, he's said it himself! The question for me is, when did he actually pick up his injury? It was always Chesters' plan to give Rocky a run out at 7 over Easter, which he duly did, then he brought Finn back, then it's basically Finn plays a couple, Hampshire plays 1 or 2. Finn didn't play well again on Friday, but if Hampshire had played would we have fared any better? Obviously no-one truly knows. The team as a whole were poor again, too many unforced errors, including Finns' inexplicable knock ons, poor passes, bad kicks. We are just imploding, giving the opposition too many invites back into games, and no matter how average they are, eventually they are gonna say thanks very much. Apart from the obvious of cutting mistakes down to a minimum, i'm not sure how we get to a level these players should be performing at week in week out, we are under performing, and Chesters' beginning to sound like a broken record in his post match interviews, not to mention seriously p****d off.

| We played hull k r last Sunday and he was pivotal to our attack, poor v Huddersfield like nearly every Wakefield player and he’s too slow and we need to change?? I don’t think so!

| What chance has Chester got half the people on here like Finn & & half want rid. I think some people don't like change. It was the same when Owen played for some reason some thought he was brilliant some thought he was crap. If Chester doesn't do what he's paid for soon we're gonna dragged down into the bottom four

Yep, and the following week against Salford he was terrible, although he wasn't alone. So Hampshire then plays at Cas, then it's Finn next against HKR.....I haven't got a problem with Finn, I still think he has something left in the tank, but I can't see how it's helping Miller, and the rest of the team chopping and changing the half backs so often, i'll bet you any money Finn doesn't play next week.

| Finn did did not do a lot again's St his kicking on the last play was bad. The St win was down to Lyne and Tupu playing out of their skins and the forwards tackling every thing that St through at them in the second half. H k match the two half's from Hk gave us the runabout in the first half , and the score flatted us at the endIf a team is playing bad it's down a lot of the time to the 6 and 7 not. making the right calls . We have won 2 games in about 10 and I think Finn as mist 3 . In the games he mist we were moving forward a lot faster when passing the ball 'and could have won a least 2 of the 3. It's got to be the time to let rocky have a run . What we got to lose as said if the coach does not get a grip it could be bottom 4

So being in involved in 3 out of four tries not doing alot! Were we really watching the same game? At the end of the day we took 2 points from a team who had only lost one game before they played us ! And Finn was calling the shots.

| If you just want a scrum half to just pass a ball you are easily pleased .Answer this question how many super league teams would Fin get in at 7 and play the full match Answer one . Why do you think Powell at cas got rid because he could see that age had caught up with him.

| A mate of mine, who is a Cas fan, who has also seen a few Fev games over the years said to me, when de signed him, that if you are a side in the bottom half of super league, or top end of championship, he would be a good player, but if you aspire to be bigger than that, we would struggle with him.
Maybe he had a point.
I think we signed him a little too late. A couple of seasons ago, he may have been slightly quicker. Maybe, when Broughy left, rather than messing around loaning Paul Cooke in 2010 and then signing Gareth Moore in 2011, we would have been better off with Finny then.

| Personally I dont think that Finns time is up. However my grievance so far this year is the squad rotation that it would appear is just for the sake of it. Surely the benefit to having strength in depth in a squad is that, when a player such as Finn has a bad run of games, you can drop him and give someone else a shot. Equally, when said player plays well, you cant then drop him. Apply this situation to the forwards, full back etc. I would like to see Hampshire given a run of 4-5 games without the pressure of being dropped to give him a prolonged run with miller and then reassess. Same with Max, although it would appear the current injury to Grix has forced Chesters hand somewhat.

| The point Eastern Wildcat has made in regards to aspiration is spot on, Finn IMO had a very successful time in the Championship and a fairly impressive 4 years in Super League however these last few weeks have outlined it for me. We need to bring someone in who is a little younger, a little hungrier but also has the experience that Finn has.

The name that matches that is Matt Smith though he is not the dynamic half some of our supporters want.
