Having been there myself I feel it is too small a ground for SL and will reduce the club's revenue significantly. I fear it could be the start of a downward spiral for income. But then again I appreciate I am only making assumptions. My opinion is as valid as the next one's and we need to trust Carter will make the right decision for the club.'"
TBH I've never seen a quote direct from MC that states dewsbury as an option, I'm sure it's just the fans and other parties that have stated this, I don't believe that dewsbury meets SL minimum standards and would require investment to make it so, also the pitch is small and definitely doesn't suit our current style of playing, even if we did thrash dewsbury in the CC I really don't think it is an option, although I agree there are some aspects of their facilities we can make use of such as the training pitch

| Quote: wildshot "Purely hypothetical of course but this could be a negative. Maybe the new terms of extending rental of Belle Vue is that the ground owners get a share of matchday refreshment sales? This would be very bad for Carter and could be the council , the BV owner and the SL deadline forcing Carter into a less favourable decision. I feel the more deadline looms, the less cards we have to play.
As for Dewsbury, I appreciate that Carter has often quoted it as an option. Having been there myself I feel it is too small a ground for SL and will reduce the club's revenue significantly. I fear it could be the start of a downward spiral for income. But then again I appreciate I am only making assumptions. Agree with all of this. Thank god we have a chairman at the helm with the clubs interests at heart and he has my support whatever decision he makes

Ask yourselves why not?

Does the answer begin with Rodney?

Has it been considered that because the trusts or multiple trusts angle of all this has become more than a little bit toxic in recent times in amongst everything else it's best that it's put to one side for the time being to see if a solution can be achieved without digging all that back up again? If those invited to the meeting are the WMDC, 88M and Michael Carter, is that not enough to get the job done?
Historically the biggest obstacles to overcome to delivery of this community stadium are:
WMDC - they're present in the meetings and reading their tweet, claim to have a way forward.
Developer - No Yorkcourt representation and the emergence of 88M as an attendee suggest that dial may have been shifted slightly and may allude to no further need for Yorkcourt or Rodney Walker (who appear to come as one).
The club - it's assumed Michael Carter is at the meetings and is both speaking on behalf of the club and the trust. Is that not a good thing? Surely if a resolution to funding, land, and a developer can be agreed between those 3 parties alone, would the very fact that one of those parties in agreement is also a member of the trust mean by default your trust would ultimately take ownership of the stadium? And if there is no new stadium and the meetings are about Belle Vue, again why would the trust need to be present?

I'm afraid the only hope you have is either Bob Hope or no hope.
Don't think anyone on the Council has a Trinity top except for Maureen Cummings.

If Michael is going is it really that important?

Because the aforementioned is self-serving, altruistic, egotistical and always wants to be bathed in glory. However the fact that he would gladly leave WT up the creek without a paddle without so much as a backward glance does not inspire me with much confidence in 'their' plan.

That is my main hope, that he will see it as the great delivery, the final monument to his glorious leadership.

| I reckon the council have been tricking us all along. Inside that giant white box that we all think is cold storage is actually an 80,000 seater stadium they've been developing in secret along with the RFL and EFL to be used as a 'Wembley of the North'. There's going to be a grand unveiling in a few months time where they wrap a massive ribbon around the whole box and then the walls peel away when Peter Box cuts the ribbon to reveal the stadium
Oh, and we wont be given permission to play there

Thought MC was on the trust?

After reading our stadium news on Sky Sports, although not saying what exactly it is, I take it that MC not disregarding the new offer it must be positive. Come on here expecting upbeat light at the end of the tunnel stadium talk and trust members don't seem happy. Are you not happy with the proposal or at not been invited to the meeting surely MC will have let you know what's happening or is the new proposal nothing to do with the trust?

Maybe he's not upbeat because there is nothing to be upbeat about.
IF, this is a "stay at BV" or "move to Dewsbury" meeting, whilst it is important, it isnt shout it from the rooftops stuff and IF this is the case, we will be in just the same position in 12 months time, with the added threat to a new SL structure, which is already being muted but, perhaps the clubs who may want to take our place aren't quite ready yet.
Let's face it, until we have real positive news and the construction company moves on site at BV, Newmarket or, elsewhere, we are under threat, which is a crying shame, given that we have had our best season on the pitch for the best part of 40 years.
