| Sounds like he played well this week and has played well for most of the season. Commenting it was time to perhaps give him a rest against hudds after some below par performances doesn't make me or others who suggested it clueless clowns.

| The whole team were well up for it this week and gave Leeds very little space, time or field position. As part of that team Grix had an equally impressive game. In contrast to the Leeds home game in the League I don't think McGuire or Moon managed one decent bomb all game.

| Ha. Grix played well, far better than he has done for many weeks. Doesn't mean his previous performances didn't warrant criticism or the argument for Max to get a run out.

Correct. Personally I was in the Grix camp, but he needed to up his game for certain and Jowitt would have been a worthy alternative.

His body language hasn't changed from the first time he was with us, some people can't win playing for Trin.
We're 4th in the league and some people are still picking fault with players.
Has it crossed anyone's mind that Max maybe learning off Grix?
Next year Max maybe almost the complete package?

Brainless knockers?
Why, for suggesting it was time to give Max a go?
Grix, on the whole has had an excellent season and been a major part of why we have done so well...he's been a great signing.....but....he did have a couple of off games leading up to this and surely people are allowed to suggest an excellent player like Jowitt be given a chance...no? He certainly didn't let us down the lat time he played in what was a big game against a very good side and arguably one of our best wins of the season...
Before the game and without the benefit of hindsight...if you look back to the last time we played Leeds it was a very even contest which ended in a two point defeat...there was two mix ups at the back that led to Leeds tries and Grix was involved in both....it would have been fair to think we would have been put under similar if not more pressure this time round as Leeds were stronger favourites to win on recent showings from both teams...so I'd say a fair shout for a change at full back...certainly not brainless to think so pre match...
As it turned out we totally dominated Leeds and field position and only two high kicks went up from them all game because of how dominant we were....the first Bill took no problem as there was no Leeds player within 10 metres of him and Grix took a tricky one in the second half but no pressure as there wasn't a Leeds player within 15 metres when he caught it...that was everything to do with how the whole team played as a unit, and in the end Grix had a fantastic game...scored a great try backing up and put two superb kicks in for tries...I've not seen anyone question Grix in an attacking sense though, as victor mentioned earlier, Grix is great when we are dominant as he's a very clever player with very good brain...
If you'd asked me before and told me we'd dominate so much and he would only have one bomb to take but would be on the front foot for most of the game I'd have happily sided with Grix.....if you'd said Leeds would dominate us and pepper us with kicks and chase down...a bit like we did to Briscoe in the first half I'd have gone for Jowitt...
We might be under a bit more pressure Thursday but he will start and rightly so...

Totally agree but you are wasting your breath. It seems Cheshire Cat is the only one who can have an opinion on this topic and unlike vastman can insult people without any consequence

| We have a good seasoned pro at FB and a good young pro waiting in the wings, let time take its path and not keep banging on who's better than who..... again.

| Neither of them are gonna be much cop behind a failing team, which I think is the whole point.
Yeah Grix has had the odd off game, made a couple of mistakes here and there, but nothin more than any other pivotal organizer.
What is pretty obvious is that like any player in any team, he will struggle to make an impact playing behind a team that is playing poorly.
Would Jowitt make a difference ?, I highly doubt it, we'd just have a different FB with different strengths unable to make his particular skills count for anything because the team as a whole are ineffective.
Grix aint done yet and Jowitt aint ready to be automatic choice, but when he is and he's soaked up all that Grix know how, he will be a far better player for it.
