We haven't had a great performance all season in my opinion. In fact I think our best performances have been in some of our losses, which shows we haven't been quite there.
If we sort out a few things we could win you.
We are due a run away score at some point this season so I'm hoping it's tomorrow.
I don't think Monday will be in the minds too much from your players and coaching staff so I'm expecting your typical good showing.
I'll go with a 2-6 point win either way.'"
Monday wont be in your minds at all
I agree that it will be a close game and we should expect loadt of you fans to make the trip as you dont seem to have another game this weekend

| I dunno, everything about this game screams Wakey by 3 scores
We've had a few squeaky wins and losses this season but they were against teams playing ok
Shudds are looking like their league position, pretty low
They're coming off a dire few point win over Cats, who haven't hit a barn door all season.
Never ever ever rule anyone out, its fatal, but Shudds are gonna have to pull a major finger out or Wakey will have to have a stinker, neither of which seem likely.
I suppose the unknown is the pivots at Shudds, didn't work out too well for Widnes though.

I thought Huddersfield showed some improvement last week with the Martyn Ridyard and Lee Gaskill combination having enterprise in it.
The Giants have already beaten Wakefield 24-16 this year and I just think they are starting to get a bit more consistent.
Wakefield lack a little bit of speed and the outside-backs can take advantage.
I think Huddersfield can win this game and so with the start they look very attractive.'"
Don't you just love Ian Millward? Wakefield lack speed??? BJB, Lyne, MCB
I know he is a bit of an 4rse but really?? He has surely lost the plot this time.

I reckon that man for man - every one of our players is slightly better than their Huddersfield counterpart, we're also playing more cohesive rugby where every player knows their role. I don't think it will be an easy win, but with the size and stamina of our pack and the speed in our backs I'm hopeful we can get the win. We've scored at least 6 tries in each of our last 4 games where as Huddersfield have struggled to get over the line as much. In the last 4 games we've scored 27 tries and only let in 10

I would say speed is our best assett this year. Is it him or is it a parody? Really

He is an 4rse, but he's not wrong in one sense - whilst we have some of the quickest backs in SL in terms of footspeed, we do lack speed in terms of thought, passing and movement off the ball. Watch how Cas create a try from their own 10 metre line - that's all about speed of thought and quick, clean passes to the outside - we don't have anywhere near that fluency yet.

| Tonight is crucial. Win tonight and we can think about where we finish in the top eight, not whether we do. Win tonight and we will exit round 16 in 5th spot at least, whatever happens on Monday. Can't see how we could get pulled out of the top eight with seven games to go. Even a losing run would require too many teams to have winning runs.

| If we win tonight it will be a fantastic achievement. Kendal has been given this game for one reason only and that is to make sure his team wins. I reckon his involvement is worth around 18pts start for Huddersfield.
The guy has no morals when it comes to reffing the club he loves. He did us big style at their place. He made sure they won away at Leeds and he will try his hardest to rig the game for them tonight.

There's some confidence there !
Tonights game is our last "easy" fixture, with the exception of Widnes away.
Despite our lofty position on the SL ladder, 5th is just mad , we are only just above Wigan and Saints (both of whom we would expect to improve towards the end of the season and with: Wigan, Salford, Leeds, Hull, Wire, Cas and Saints to come, a drop in form could see us struggle.
I aint counting any chickens until we're mathematically safe.
However, if we can start to mix it with the big boys, a top 4 spot is possible.
Exciting times indeed, roll on 8 o clock !

I don't think it's confidence, it's a statement of fact!
Realistically, only 2 teams can pull us in: Hudds and Catalan.
If we win tonight, we'd be 4 wins better than Huddersfield and Catalan (assuming Salford beat them tonight). Even if they win each win the other bank holiday game (postponed in Huddserfield's case), out of the remaining seven games, they'd have to win four to overtake us if we don't win another match all season, and by points that claw back points difference. But we are unlikely to go seven games without a win at all.
Can either of them do it? I doubt it. It's just too much.
Tonight could make us a team that is unlikely to drop out. Too many teams below us.

| And in reply to the last couple of posts above. The RFL are also aware of our 'unlikely' league position and that is exactly why Kendal has been given this game.

| I'm always a bit skeptical about claims that refs are a bit biased towards one team or another, I think on the whole they're either having a mare or decent for both sides equally.
Can't make either game this b/h, I'm driving to Cornwall for a week in a couple of hours, so I'm hoping there'll be some balanced sensible appraisals of the refs performance tomorrow.
In all honesty, I don't think Shudds can win this game whoever is on the field, but....we'll see..

Indeed, we will lose games even ones we are favourites to win.
To all the drama queens one here (you know who you are) show some dignity should we loose - it happens - it's not the end of the world.

| It's the perfect senario, the RFL want to get rid of Wakefield from SL so with 9 games left they decide to hatch a plot with the youngest SL referee to make sure we lose because he was on the books at shudds and left because he wasn't good enough, will he be in charge of the other 8 games or will they direct some of the other refs to conspire our downfall.
