| Well we have enough seats at Odsal
But seriously moving to Odsal is barmy. I suspect MC is trying to influence the other players by threatening to leave.
I hope he's careful because I fear for you if you move out of Wakefield. I wonder if the other players know that too.
Moving out of Belle Vue should only be done as a last resort.
I remember when we moved to Valley Parade in 2001. It was meant to be temporary while Odsal was re-developed. Despite us being SL champions our attendances dropped by a few thousand as people wouldn't travel across the city. We still remained in Bradford. If Wakefield moved to Dewsbury they'd lose support. If they moved to Odsal it'd be even worse. Can't see it happening.
Look at the clubs that moved out of their old grounds without a permanent home to go to (Oldham, York etc) they haven't prospered.
Stay put as long as you can.

I know it might seem like that but while you're there you have some influence. One you've gone what then?

| I'm not convinced we've seen the last move of the chess pieces.
No option is good (other than the one that was promised but not yet delivered).
Dewsbury is the least bad option in terms of moving. It's near enough to Wakefield to be passable, close to the motorway, as is most of Wakefield. What we would lose is the support from people who only ever walked. The crowds will be smaller, no doubt. Salford is probably the best comparison. Moved to a better ground but further away from where most people lived. The crowds dropped off a bit, but as there was always a decent hardcore, not too much. We are probably similar. We've always had a hardcore of 3,000 to 4,000. When the good times roll, that shoots up because the occasionals come back.
Bradford, on the other hand, were a much bigger club when they moved out of Odsal. What they lost were the fringe supporters, I'm guessing, but retained the hardcore.
Featherstone would be the wrong move. Politically, you're giving up whatever ace there is in being forced out of the District. I just don't know whether the ace is low or high. No one might care, in the end.
The club owners have a financial stake. If things are looking rocky, they might just get an offer they can't refuse from someone wanting a top flight club elsewhere. All they'd need would be the RFL's permission to relocate. If it were to an expansion area like Coventry, can you see the RFL refusing? I can't.
For me, that's the likeliest outcome. We move away. No one cares other than us. The club owners get an offer to buy the club and they sell. The club moves to pastures so far away you can't tell if they're new or not.

| Don't know if any of you have seen the letter in League Express but a Fev fan has really slated Belle Vue and is calling for it to be shut down following their treatment at the weekend. Not sure from the letter whether he is blaming Wakey or Sheffield.

Not like a Fev fan to hold a, long standing Asa Amone related, grudge against Wakefield.

| "This club is redound for its fighting spirit, had to fight to get in super league reduced funding for the first two years compared to other clubs.
Never relegated.
Surly the the club as never needed that spirit more than now.
It is for so many people their life.
We just think that action to remain at Belle Vue or Newmarket is essential to show Mr Carter and Mr Bretherton the strength of feeling from supporters before any final decisions are made."

| "Load of clap !
I read in today's trade press that Mr Carter says all the fans he speaks to are happy with a move from Belle Vue
He must be living on another planet .. to us, or is it we are on Mars? Everyone we speak to think the opposite.
Perhaps if we call for a one minutes applause this Thursdays televised match on ten minutes after kick off for all who want to stay would give a idea of the strength of feeling of the fans.
Please Mr Carter tell us what we have to do to stay.

Unless you have a few million quid stashed away, unfortunately, staying at BV just isn't an option.
With facilities now being rated to decide on the level of funding from The RFL, BV, is just not good enough.
It's move or die, unless my Euromillions ticket truly is a lucky dip.
In an ideal world, we could improve BV, in the same way that Widnes did at Naughton park but, without ownership of the ground and a shed load of cash, it just isn't going to happen.
It's a lousy position to be in but, you have to go with the cards that you are dealt.

| Win the Euro millions and buy some land and try get planning past WMDC then wait for years of leaping over the hurdles they place in front of us. Once Councillor Box has died of old age and Castleford MDC has removed any memory of Wakefield, you may be allowed to build a stadium. If your lucky.

You could try persuading the millionaires lurking in the shadows to come out and buy the club now Ted/Farrar/Glover etc have long gone.

| First buy the ground off the new owner who will want several million for it, he is going to develop it, so will want a good return on his investment in order not to develop it, I would think that a figure of say £ 5 million may just get get it, then spend another million just to reach minimum standards, also have another 6 or 7 million to bring the ground to anything like respectable.
Why would anyone in their right mind spend that money on BV. Its just not going to happen. The council could force Yorkcort to honor the 106 and instead of building a new ground at Newmarket Yorkcourt could agree to upgrade BV, but the owner of BV would still have to agree to sell. So we know that the council are not going to enforce the 106, even if they were forced to in court then Yorkcourt have already closed their compnay transferred assets into new holding companies etc etc in order to avoid having to spend one single penny on community facilities, So get real BV is dead, it is an ex Rugby ground, it has ceased, it is no more. Box has won, Yorkcourt with the help of Box have won. Lets get out of Wakefield, get to Dewsbury and start again.
