I'm gonna firmly sit on the fence and say Miller, Finn and Ashurst. All 3 you you could make a case for. Just to add to that I actually think Jowitt has a decent shout of winning young player of the year for SL. Johnstone may have probably pipped him it if not for his injury cut season.

I would be looking at the whole season, Finn and Miller were terrible at the start at least the first 6 rounds and have reverted to terrible for the last 6 matches. How players who have played so poorly in half the games can even be considered for player of the year is beyond me. As a squad over the last several years we have the ability for standards to drop to a really poor standard, how one game such as Huddersfield away in the cup they can defend like their lives depend on it then another game they cannot be bothered suggests lack of professionalism. So for me my player of the year has to be someone who has played to a high standard week in week out despite the carnage going on around him, a player who has improved, a durable player, a player who looks like he cares, so for me it can only be Anderson.
If not Anderson then Max Jowitt is the only player who meets my criteria.

What would a Cockney know about rugby league?:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_73558.jpeg

If Scott Moore wasn't suspended all the time he'd be in with a shout, he was pivotal to the upturn in form. Inclined to agree with Belly that Jowitt has probably been the most consistent over the year but overshadowed by Johnstone's big moments. Would probably like to see Max running the ball out a bit harder but that will come with time.

So Jowitt for me. Would hope he's in line for wider acknowledged honours as well come the seasons end.

I think we have 'flogged' max J this season and in all fairness Chester knows that but injuries left no alternative. His form has suffered second half of season as a result. He'll bounce back but for me he would get 'young player of season'

My player of season would be miller. never missed a game, comes up with a few howlers but can never accused of giving less than 100% everytime he walks onto the pitch.

Really??
I'm afraid I don't see it with Arona. I know others do but to me he has been a bit of a disappointment.

Anthony England all day long for me, bloke was head of stats in early days, of smith , and was always giving 100% doing big minutes, our form has tailed off since he left the frame having a shoulder operation, I can remember him putting an arm round Tom When it wasn't going right and his defence was at question, but we all have our opinions , Tom a close second

Has to be Miller, dont think he has missed a game he does a lot of big tackles as well as leading the attack.

Tough call between Finn and Johnstone. I see criticism from some quarters for our halves. Their APPARENT poor matches at the start and end of the season comes down to one thing; playing behind a beaten pack. Our pack is and has for some time, been the main weak area both in terms of size and go forward. It only takes 2 or 3 to be out of that set of forwards and we are stuffed. NO half can play behind that. Finn has improved us a lot. He quietly gets about the very important job of good distribution and a fair kicking game. His goal kicking is consistently good. He has freed up Miller to do his magic and is a better companion than Smith who was too much of a glory hunter to do that. My choice of Johnstone takes no explaining. What a player. Astounding improvement this season. If he'd played the year out I'd have said him. But for his outstanding influence on the quality of our play I'd say Finn...and not missed a match either has he?
