| Brough is a grub - that was the perfect illustration of a beaten player making a cheap shot out of petulance; it was a straight red all day, but Mr Hewer lacked the bottle.

I dunno what else he could do there, they were both going at pace and Mcgilvary cut in.
An unavoidable collision, you have to protect yourself somehow in those situations, a proper premeditated shoulder would be unmistakable and in that particular circumstance result in a penalty try, that looked more like self preservation than intent.
The fact that a penalty try wasn't awarded suggests dubious shinnanagins, but.....whatever.....mebbe he'll get off with a penalty sufficient or something.

| My thoughts also.
We just know down at Red Hall they watch totally different things and will stop at nothing to halt our success

I think what may go against Max is that he jumped into the shoulder charge with both feet off the ground. Having said that Mcgillveray never made a fuss about it.

No rush for me - personally don't think either are ready to face the "Green Machine". That said neither are most of the England team but they are not quite as young.

When Tom was scoring tries freely I thought he was ready but I concur - I think this season is too soon for the pair of them to play against the Aussies. Wouldn't do any harm for them to be called into the squad though to train with the England team?

| They are both obvious candidates for England Knights - does that still exist?

2013 I think was the last I believe
Like Bren said the Knights would have been the ideal level to ease them into and would have done them the world of good. Like you say though there's no rush for both. They're best carrying on learning their trade for us and if they keep developing at the rate they are, hopefully next year they might be in and around the squad.

| Back to the OT - Broughy is quickly starting to look like a busted flush; his temperament is worse than ever and he's going missing during poor performances in the same way he did for us. I reckon he'll be on his way out of Shudds soon.
