| I guess the automatic response is to assume that the Chester effect is taking over from what Smith left behind. I hope not but we did look quite a bit off the pace. we let the Hull KR halfbacks dictate play by hanging back. I am sorry but Toupou is not a winger and Lynn looked completely out of the game.
I guess all we can hope is that we turn things around, we did miss England, Kirmond and BJB more than some on here were willing to accept.

| Playing like that we are nailed on for championship rugby next year. We looked clueless on the odd time we got to the line and bombed 2 chances which would have got us back in the game. Don't think we would have won though. Kelley was pure class tonight and we had no answer.

| Utter rubbish tonight. Bar maybe Ashurst the team just didn't turn up in any facet of the game. Play like that and the bottom four beckons, we need to get back on the horse quickly. The team needs Moore, England & BJB in it to give it some bite.

| I don't think it was a lack of effort at all.
With Jowitt missing at the back we let the ball bounce all over the place. With him in we would have been starting the set 20 metres up field but without him we turned the ball over and gave tries away. That meant we had no ball and hado to work twice as hard as Rovers in defence.
Add to that Tupou dropping the ball twice to give tries away and a couple of loose balls when attacking the line.
It's not effort it's fatigue and lack of skill in certain players.
Hall needo to be centre or no where. BJB needs to be back.
That alone would have made it a close game with England, Moored and Kirmond making a big difference. A fit Simon would be handy too.

| Got totally what we deserved tonight! We set the tone for yours selfs, campese put 3 high bombs up to the back 3 and none of them could handle it which all led to try's! We got bullied up front and completely Dominated in the ruck. We did totally the opposite to what Chester said for us to do with campese, we let him play in a dinner suit, we needed someone to bang him. Very poor from start to finish we missed like people have said to many key players.
Couple of blunders in chesters selection for me tonight, bill should of been in the centre n hall on the wing.
Hall is never a full back as long as he plays rugby, if he thinks Max needs a rest then we have another out and out full back in the squad that can't get a look in, in tansey use him there not hall. I am a hall fan but please god not at full back!

| Quote: Slugger McBatt "I think we're in the million pound game, nailed on. That isn't knee-jerk, as hacked off as I am. That is purely because Widnes and Cas will overtake us due to our woeful points difference, and I think one of the teams below us will come out of the bottom four. So we go into a mini-competition will confidence and momentum gone, against Leeds and Huddersfield, and maybe Hull KR on an upward swing.
Time and time again we blow the games that really matter, and get by on ego-stroking wins against teams high above us. If we'd swapped the Wire and Catalan results for the last two, we'd be in the Super 8's pretty much. Now? I think we're on the way out. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Koukash's tribunal could even do it for us. And I wouldn't fancy playing Leigh in a one-off game.'"
Easy there Tiger. Tonight and the Salford game have been far from ideal but we haven't beaten all those teams by luck. Still plenty of time for CC to get us back on track.
Tonight we were missing Moore, Kirmond, England, BJB, Jowitt, Gibson. All first 13 players. No excuse for the tackling mind, but let's not forget, most other teams have had several injuries which long term has meant they are not as tired as we are in general.
There is definitely a risk of what you say happening, but we have the talent in this team to get back to better performances and banish those thoughts.

| They did exactly the same to us at the jungle. We were in a serious injury crisis but the same depleted Cas team had managed to beat Widnes away and Shudds at home in the previous games but came unstuck against a team who we thought were going to roll over. I just wonder if you turned up thinking it would be a win. On the bright side you won another against the head so lighten up you've lost two on the trot but are still in the top 8.

Agree with all that. I knew that when we had a couple of poor performances some people would be staring to think the worse, I suppose it's natural being a Trinity fan. Like you say there was some crucial players out tonight so no need to dread the absolute worst but we need to turn things around with a win quickly to stop it becoming a habit. We've really played some good stuff, as well as manning up when we haven't since CC came on board. For it to be all a fluke & suddenly become last years team, nah it doesn't work like that imo. Lets be honest nearly all teams have gone through phases like this and some worse.
Going in I thought if we could cut down on the penalties/silly mistakes, get the forwards to lay a platform and work for each other, we'd be alright but unfortunately non of that really happened. We knew before hand that if you give Campese & Kelly time on the ball they'll make things happen but we didn't get a grip of them all night. Lethargic in the forwards, no platform for the halves and silly mistakes all around killed us.
For me Jowitt missing stuck out like a sore thumb. Hall just doesn't seem to have the confidence or tactical knowledge to play Fullback. Don't know if Tansey is on loan or what but I'd have played him tonight if possible. Even though Kirmond's been in the bin more often than not lately, I think we really missed his leadership, no one else stepped up to the plate that's for sure. England's always a big miss down the middle when he's out. Although we've played well at times without him, we simply don't look the same team without Moore. The sooner he's back the better.
The team and coach need to have a good look at themselves and think how they want the rest of the season to pan out. Get together as a group, work like hell for each other and get back doing what they did the past few months and we should make the 8. Let these wins effect their confidence and start pointing fingers & blaming each other and things could unravel and we could end up in the bottom 4 and non of us need that headache.

| I cannot think of one club that at some point this season has not gone through a bad patch with the exception of Leeds whose whole season could be described as bad.

| By my reckoning Scott Moore still has two more matches to sit out which are Huddersfield and Leeds. Winning those two would see us in the eight.
He then returns for the last four matches against Saints, Wigan, Catalans and Cas, all much harder matches to win on paper.
We really miss Moore but we need to find a way to win without him in the next couple of games IMO.

| You looked like Leeds. As if everyone is knackered and no-one has any confidence either in themselves or each other.

Moore is back for the Leeds game.

| Shockingly bad in pretty much every aspect; refused to contest high balls, never laid a glove on Campese and let Kelly have all the time in the world to set up their plays. And as usual, we offer Dixon a lifeline when he's in the wilderness - they'll think he's good for a few more games again now.
Christ knows where a performance like that comes from, but it may well have consigned us to the M8's, which is ridiculous given the run we've been on; it was good while it lasted, but as usual, it didn't last long enough.

| Good point about Dixon. The guy is quick but will never be a Super League standard player while ever he's got a hole is a5se. They brought him back from the 3rd tier because Webster knows we're the only club in the comp where he's an asset. He'll now be bundled off back to the outer limits because all other teams know how to exploit his inherent weaknesses.
