| We were poor but Bentham gave them 18 points due to errors.

| I thought we suffered whilst Scruton was on the pitch. Our come back started when he limped off and then hit the buffers when he came back on gave away that head high that lead to Catalans moving from 26 to 32. Went straight off again then!
Loss by 13 against a star studded Catalans side lead by a rampant Dave Taylor doesn't seem too bad as an end result. But it's another "if only"

| Very disappointed with the first 25 minutes and no team is going to win from that position.
Great comeback, while it lasted and Toupu was certainly the inspiration for that but, the effort, commitment and quality from the youngest
player on the field, Johnstone, brightened up a crap afternoon. The lad was utterly brilliant and unlucky not to add to his earlier well taken try.
BJB, whilst looking dangerous in attack, looks very shy in defence and why he wasn't busting a gut to get to the kick for their first try was just poor and it set the tone for the first 25 minutes of slow, lazy rugby league, which was the worst we've seen for a couple of years or more.
Someone needs to take charge on field as there doesn't appear to be any leadership out there.

| I'd drop BJB and Miller for the next match. The only two areas that haven't been changed.

| Quote: Anson lad "Well that was a shambles yet again. How long will smith keep his job, how many super league games has he won foe us? 2 in 20? Not counting the middle8's. Would another club put up with this? No doubt he come on wakey tv with the usual bull,, he should be a MP with the excuses he come out with. Get Jk in before it's too late again and we have to drag all fringe players in from the top teams to save us again.'"
No coach could do much more with our squad. We have too many journeymen and players who are really not SL standard.
However put in a couple of class players in the squad and we would have enough to build a half decent team.

| Why bring an international class player across to the other side of the world and then stick him on the bench? Absolutely baffles me! Completely different side while he was on the pitch. Brian Smith is not the messiah he's a very naughty boy

| Very poor in the tackle for those first 20 - 25 mins you cant blame any Ref for that and Its been said that the first thing they do in training is contact work..well they need to up it then as even after that there was some poor tackles put in. Johnstone must have been told you have a free reign he was my mom stopped 2 certain scores and played well

| We need o make A. Tupou Captain....imo he would make an excellent leader on the pitch. We desperately need a centre to partner Tom Johnstone, who was fantastic today, and a big strong forward to replace Scruton who is abysmal. Our go forward changed altogether the minute Scruton left the field and Tupou and Arona came on, the backs will never do anything until the forwards start dominating.

| First the positives, Tom Johnstone was excellent and we didn't give up like we probably would have last year and for a couple of calls it could have been better. And why oh why do we not get as much game time out of Anthony Tupou as possible? The guy is comfortably our classiest player, we need him on the pitch. But ultimately we were just not good enough at crucial times principally the start and once we had fought back to give ourselves a chance. You can't start like we did and hope to get results, we were so soft in defence in was a throwback to last season at times. As we saw at times today Catalans have a soft underbelly and some attitude problems and this should have been a target game for us, as it was pretty much over after half an hour. BJB was ok going forward but poor defensively, the forwards well and truely owned by Dave Taylor and Louie Anderson but for me the main issues resolves around two areas, hooker and halfback. Although he isn't the quickest Howarth i don't mind but i have a problem with Sio. This guy is taking up one of our overseas spots and i really don't see what he offers that a championship rake couldn't, probably for less coin. We need much more from him. But top of the problem tree are Finn and Miller. Now we know Finn doesn't really have the legs but he could do a job if the guy alongside him had half a clue what he was doing. But time and time again Miller is being found out to be nothing short of awful creatively and the epitome of a headless chicken. patience is wearing thin with him and for me he has a couple of games to show a siginificant improvement and make it work or changes are going to have to be made.

| I have never been a fan at all of Scruton, but I did agree with the drinking ban that HE implemented last year.
The time is now right I think for Wakefield to start using their younger forwards, as I believe both Anderson and Scruton are a spent force. Though I think last year when the two older players were off the pitch at the same time, I think our younger forwards got bossed around too easily.
I do agree with the earlier post though, why bring a world class player all the way around the world, but then why get rid of 2 half backs, and only bring in 1. The club are totally clueless at times.
We dont need one more half back, yet again the performances show we need TWO. Miller runs round like a headless chicken most of the time, and Finn isnt eaven championship standard. This needs addressing VERY SOON. If we dont we wont even make the MPG.

I thought we were playing rope a dope tactics by trying to tire themselves out. Lost for words for the first 20 then we came to life. Agree with all re Tom Johnstone who was by far the best player for us.

| The title said gutless but I don't see that at all, half of this team just aren't good enough at this level and once replaced I believe we'd have at least a competitive team. I see an improvement from last year and a team that's a work in progress but it's gonna take time and patience. The one shining light for me today was Johnstone who fought for everything, ran his heart out, scored a belting try and if anybody had backed him up on one of his bursts we'd have maybe got another try or two. His defence especially early doors was pretty good too. The rest? Tupou did well and Simon drove it in hard but the tries we concede game after game mean we're gonna struggle unless Brian Smith can find a formula to fix our Achilles heel.

| Tom Johnstone, came of age today, we saw a glimps at Warrington last week. All that was missing was to back himself for the try line, today he did, and shows what he had going forward, great performance, certainly not gutless.
However not naming individuals, we are suffering from only 8 players at SL standard, rest middle of road championship standard, unless this is addressed it's going to be long season,
We haven't learned from silly mistakes 24-26 scruton comes on high shot penalty , they score game over, walker needs a chance, England was looking tired after constant game time,

| Yeah I dont think we were gutless as such. Not good enough defensively for a couple of theirs but at least 3 more were gifted by errors again and another couple individual 50/50's.
Anyone know why Tupous was disallowed?
All in all, I think we were arguably the better side for the last 60 mins, result not ideal but we had them on the ropes at one point, speaks volumes for character to come back from that and not fold.
Onwards and Upwards, another platform laid. WTID
