| No apologies to Mr Carter?
Quite surprised after what I read following his apparently timely ultimatum, given how he has dealt with a troublesome situation.

| Good, better than moving out of the city. I hope now it can somehow be redeveloped to be our long term home.

No chance of that from some on here, that are quick to condemn.
They will more likely be back on with a negative spin on the good news!
Nobody really knows what goes on and it must be very hard for TRB, Inflatable Armadillo and the rest of the people busting a gut for the good of the club, to keep schtum and bite their lips, when there is that much stabbing in the dark.

| Brilliant Brill..... And any other superlatives you want to use. Thanks to all of those who have worked for this. Now let's all get there and make all the effort worthwhile.

| I think apologising can be a two way thing and I am yet to read any from Carter during his current reign despite his many rants on Twitter.
I will read the statement to see what in entails but on the face of it the decision is the correct one which we all knew.

Chris and Michael have worked really hard and stuck to their guns, that all they wanted was a fairer and sustainable rent and that if meant being forced out of Belle Vue and having to go play at Dewsbury to keep the club alive, then so be it! As it turned out, all parties realised that staying at Belle Vue was the best option for all.
As for redeveloping Belle Vue to be the long term home of the club, then I need to remind everyone of something I and my good colleagues and friends in the Stadium Trust, Supporters Trust, SWAG and various supporters groups have been saying for some time now - NO ONE has promised the people of Wakefield, and therefore fans of Wakefield Trinity, a redeveloped Belle Vue! You HAVE all been promised a new Community Stadium at Newmarket and WMDC have unfortunately not, so far, fulfilled their duty to enforce a planning obligation that was the basis of that promise.
Now, this is not a aimed at you particularly or personally Theboyem, but just a general and important reminder for all who support the club and the building of a community stadium that will be the home for WTW and other new City teams, maybe in football or RU, that we have all to be totally united and Fight For Newmarket, because that is what we were promised and we are owed!
Now, ok, many would prefer a redeveloped Belle Vue and we get that but if you start primarily asking and fighting for that, and not Newmarket, then you are in massive danger of undermining everything all these people and the Club have been working towards, a Community stadium for all. Now, it is always possible that as part of negotiations they might (and only might) make an offer, and it would have to be a very, very good offer, to redevelop Belle Vue. However, we were never promised that and it will only be through pushing for Newmarket that any offer might come.
So, opinions are fine, but I am going to put this bluntly and I feel very confident on speaking for Chris and Michael on this, that we all need to be totally united in the Fight for Newmarket, and that you are either with us or against us. Anyone that actively, purposefully, vocally and openly starts to campaign for a redevelopment of Belle Vue is working to undermine many thousands of hours of work and is therefore against us.
So, please join with us and lets all Fight for Newmarket?
I can also say that now the Belle Vue situation has been resolved we will shortly be updating everyone fully on the continued work and progress on Newmarket. It will be very soon, not sure exactly when, but please believe us when we say it will be as soon as possible.

As well as being blunt, it's also extremely arrogant and quite threatening. Don't try and dictate what I can and can't say.

I fully get what you are saying but given i have never wanted to move to Newmarket and have always felt it it is in then wrong location and it would prove to be a huge white elephant then i must be against you then. That's my opinion and sorry it ain't changing. Many probably feel different and thats fine, no problem with that and yes i understand if there is no campaign for NM then there could never be any slight chance of a redevelopment of BV via a backdoor deal. But personally Newmarket will never be somwhere i agree with so i won't be joining any fights for it it i'm afraid. I'm sure others will though. All that said i'm i'm hardly going to be starting up a fight for Belle Vue campaign either!

| Hand on heart this is probably the best news to come out of the ground situation.
And I'd like to take the opportunity to apologise to MC for my calling him every name under the sun and believing he had opportunities elsewhere. Obviously in an ideal situation NM would be preferable, but with the resources available and the fact that the council and Yorkcout have slithered out of a pickle I have nothing more now than admiration.
It must be hard for MC and CB when fickle fans such as myself criticise when everything goes wrong e.g the performances this season, and this result of the ground situation has made me realise that I definitely made a lot of OTT remarks, for which I'm ashamed.
In short well done MC with the tide against you it probably wasn't easy.

You certainly have mate, and many share your opinion too, but I think you understand and it is the last point you make that I was trying to get across (maybe not as well as I have previously and at the public meetings, now reading my post back) that an active, public and primary fight for a redeveloped Belle Vue would be hugely counter productive and that is exactly what some quarters, who don't want either to happen, would use as reason to continue to not deliver either! So, I get you and many others not directly Fighting for Newmarket, but equally it would be very easy for something to gather momentum, even when genuine and heartfelt opinions expressed about staying at Belle Vue for the long term, if that is now all we see or hear from large numbers of fans, following the great news today.
I said at the last public meeting that if you do prefer Belle Vue, then you need to support Newmarket, because that is the only current way you might get your preference, if you don't then the real likelihood is that we get neither!

I am not going to apologise for being blunt and telling you the honest truth as we see it, but if it did come across as arrogant and threatening then I do apologise, it wasn't meant to. But, as I have posted above, you are fully entitled to your opinion but you and others need to understand what could happen if that message gets louder and more traction and how that will play right into the hands of those that don't want to see either happen!
Now, lets also add that the Stadium Trust directors remain very open minded and will listen to anyone who feels they can help or has a credible and therefore potentially deliverable alternative plan to either build at Newmarket, a redeveloped Belle Vue or even another site in the City that would have to be considered suitable for the sighting of a new Community Stadium and home for WTW. In respect of Belle Vue then we would be looking for for a figure or contributions that would equate to circa £14m to £15m. That is not supposed to be anything other than an understanding of the task faced by the Trust and the Club in delivering the Belle Vue that everyone feels would be the equivalent of what the people of Wakefield were promised and owed at Newmarket.
