These guys are tough, they have to be but I can't help thinking that psychologically there is a point of no return on these injuries. People have been invalided for life for less traumatic events than this. Most of us will go through life and never suffer injuries of this nature and if we do it would probably due to something as horrendous as a big car crash.

I mean once is perhaps part of the game but a second time just out of rehab! Can't help thinking we expect to much from these lads and I'm certain Richie can find an easier way to make living. We'll see but I wouldn't blame him.

Massive blow for him especially when he has been trying to deal with other issues as well. Hope he can make a full recovery.

You're so right Vasty, When its happened once and you know how long, how painful, and how difficult it is to get back to playing it is bound to affect your thinking when you have to confront it again. Rich has other interests besides rugby and he may just decide to concentrate on those. however some players become even more determined to prove their doubters wrong.
Jake Webster at Cas is a great example.

He has been unlucky not just with the previous break,but his career changing offer he had before the first injury,so financially plus the injury he had a double blow,and now this.He must have shot quite a few robins to warrant this.I broke my tib and fib at 29 and managed to play against hopefully Richard can do the same.Get well soon mate
