That's the definitive statement, it doesn't matter if it's 100 metres outside, its outside!
Normally, I'm all for being positive but I'm not going to be about this because I'm not prepared to dress this up as anything other than what it is.
A scandal and a tragedy
Shameful that we've come to this!'"
I totally agree. I just think its the best alternative.
It's all very sad.

I think the 2 mile walk there would put some off that. They'd probably just stay in the pub!

| WF12 post code and the best option by a mile. I agree about the way things have gone but I would much rather be at Dews than Batley, Feath, Cas or Barnsley. With regards to the ground it could be that Kirklees council will welcome the move and offer assistance. Its a tidy set up at Dewsbury and in a good area
Its a crying shame that its come to the stage that because of total poor management over the years we are in the situation we are but we are and I would rather see it as a new start.
It could just prove to be the making of our club rather than the final nail in the coffin. The truth is we don't know .

| Short term I wouldn't mind. I just feel that would be the beginning of the end, unless I heard some positive news regarding a long term home in the city, which is not on the horizon is it?

That it has come to this is a tragedy and many people are to blame but the intransigence of the Council when compared to many other Councils across the country is shameful.
No top class sporting representation in the City of Wakefield from next year!'"
If this council wanted top class sporting representation in the City they could have had it. Its not only the Newmarket farce but the
several other chances that proceeded Newmarket which have all been blown.
To me the location is perfect, just a couple of 100yds outside the boundary and therefore totally beyond the influence of Box .

The WF postcode is a complete red herring, the WF codes stretch out past Knottingley and beyond Birstall but they're not Wakefield.
For me this isn't about the best option which, if we're accepting the death of top flight Rugby League within Wakefield, might well be Dewsbury. It's about the above mentioned move to outside Wakefield which is a total scandal!
Those involved and culpable should be ashamed not only of this but of the barren sporting landscape that the City of Wakefield has become!

There is quite a sizeable car park at the ground plus plenty of on street parking nearby. They coped quite well when the Bulls came to town.

Forgot about that, they will have had some decent crowds this season with Bradford and Leigh so it can't be that bad.

| Isn't it just a last resort plan B?
The suggestion about giving notice to leave Belle Vue was about negotiating a rent we could afford if the BOI prefer that to us leaving. He'd be stupid to presume that would be the outcome and not prepare a plan B.

I'd say it's looking like Dewsbury could be on the agenda, Dewsbury's chairman says we're in talks with them, plus MC has stated somewhere that someone has put a bid in to the BOI for BV.

| Sheffield Eagles have played at several grounds over the years and have a fraction of Trinity's support but will have their own stadium by next year Olympic
Legacy Park apparently...going full time professional in October 2015 as well.
It's a travesty that some cities have several professional sports clubs within it and Wakefield City are due to have none by December 2015.
I'd rather the team move 9 miles south to Barnsley FC if it goes out of the city as there will be a chance of increasing the fan base even more over the year. Great facilities as well although probably more expensive option.

That stand-off worked out well for us then. That's a lot of history down the tubes.
If we're looking at fault, I suppose it goes back to the "company" who bought the ground in the hope we'd get another, paid for by someone else. Did the club get full market value?
What's gone has gone, I guess, but it's looking like we've had our last hurrah. We can't survive on small crowds and then we move to a ground that can't hold more than 5,000.
On the other hand, it might prompt some action in the Town Hall. When I say action, I mean Peter Box thumping the air and chanting, "I'm Cas until I die."

That is not the view of our beloved council though is it. they are more than happy with what they will have left.
They will then be able to put all their resources into one club which will become the flagship for the local authority.

| I agree its a shame that the City of Wakefield will be left without any professional sporting club , but I also think the council don't care. I have said before our City was recognised all over the UK for its training facilities for nurses, Police and prison officers, The prison and Wakefield Trinity.
I am proud to be from Wakefield and cant wait to arrive home , The council just don't seem to recognise the significance of Trinity
