Simon pushed Locke for man of the match IMHO. Scruton improved as the game went on peaking with that run down the right late on. Also thought Kavanagh was pretty faultless and never tired. Owen is like an extra forward when he steps up to help driving the ball out.

| Hull are a big pack you've got to move them about the park,especially in the warm conditions like last night.The first 20 we kept it down the middle,making defence easy for them and with the dropped ball and penalties gave them a 16point start,Once we run the line and shifted the ball out wide they eventually looked tired hence the 26 un answered points.The confidence in the team after the opening try in the 2nd half was there for all to see  |

The kicking game suddenly became good last night because we had chasers, with Locke very skillful in this area. High bombs are the order of the day now for him.
There was one where Scruton went through and was lining up to absolutely kill the full back, only for the ball to be picked out by the winger and Scruton was lining up the wrong guy. The chase was the point though as he dragged others with him and they got no go forward.

I doubt we will get senior referees. The referees are graded and the best get the higher ranked clubs so that explains why we rarely get a decent ref.
