How was Paul Taylor the worst, really daft choice. He broke his ankle after 5 minutes in his first game, unluckiest perhaps but worst

Hickey doesn't, sorry but he just doesn't.

| There's too many to list, I think the ones with the decent reputations that came over but didn't do much are the ones to look at.
Seers was a good player, but he couldn't be bothered and was more interested with Westgate. O'Brien was talked up but played once, Petersen was one of the top try scorers in Aus but what a disaster he turned out to be.
I was only young when Aaron Whittaker came over, did he go OK? For some reason I can remember him getting stick from the support, I could be way off though.

| Hickey is the worst that I can remember, although he didn't come with a big reputation.
Brent Todd came as a very big name and was truly average, what a let down, thankfully IIRC he came over
with Mark Graham and Steve Ella so, in the words of Meatloaf, 2 out of 3 ain't bad !

| What was most disappointing about Hickey is that he had all the gear but no idea. 6' 5" and broad, he didn't pull his weight - he probably ate his weight in food everyday though.

Nah, sorry. Those who tried, even if they failed, deserve my respect.
If they come here, take the bucks and don't deliver (unless it is for genuine reasons), or don't even try, then they don't get it. There are not that many tbh, as you can see from the repeated names showing above, but we've had a few. Most of them didn't show up because the club was 'below their expectations', and for that you can apportion some of the blame on those challenged in trying to get them here. Sid and Solo were top level players but, maybe because they came at the same time, they got stuck in. Others tended to come to make a name for themselves and came with little fanfair but left as heroes. The ones on this thread came with reputations and just weren't prepared to roll up their sleeves and muck in.

| im not going to say the worst overseas signings but rather the ones that disappointed me through the expectations on there signing and maybe what my expectations were. from recent times I would say matt seers who came with a big reputation and for what ever reason didn't really deliver. But the ones who I was probably most disappointed with was the then international half back paring of David bailey and aron Whitaker who I thought would work well as pairing as they played for new Zealand.

Yep, Bailey cam over as top try scorer in the Lion Red comp, really expected him to do well but looked out of his depth.
Robert Piva came over with Bailey and Whittaker, big lad but too rough around the edges and lacked fitness.
Got to agree, can't really class Paul Taylor as he only played about 5 mins of his first match!

| Hickey was the worst I can remember in a Trin shirt but my memory is fading and you tend to see more of players in the SL era cos of Sky and social media, You tube, etc.. The thing that set him apart from the other bad ones was not only his woeful fitness but he appeared to have hardly any idea of how to play rugby league. Before any body beats me to it, yes I know Cas have probably had worse players than you. All the best for christmas.

| When discussing worst overseas signings there are have been many who no one had heard of prior to signing who wouldn't get a game with Eastmoor and that is down to lack of research by the coach at the time but the worst ones have to be the established NRL stars / NZ / Aug internationals who came over on big money and put in zero effort and top of that list has to be NZ international BRENT TODD

Sean Rudder springs to mind for Cas. Plus how about Ben Walker for Leeds!

| If we're extending the thread to other clubs. How about Leeds fullback Gallagher (John? NZ?)
Mark Caroll and Willie Mason.
