There not playing because Agar wants to use any excuse he can not to play them?
Give it a rest, Agars here to pick his best team each week and that`s what he does.'"
Sometimes the best team isn't always your best team.
Who will get squeezed out for no apparent reason when Washbrook is fit?
Will he walk in as a replacement for Keinhorst?
If you don't want players to get lazy and complacent, generally you create an environment where they compete for places.
But of course, this doesn't come into it as our sole purpose is to avoid relegation!
Relegation or not, some peoples faces just don't fit no matter what they do.

| Cowling better than Lyne....seriously? One doing ok in Super League...which stats would back up....the other struggling to get picked for a championship....
Like Ryan above Walshaw...as the season progresses it will be clear that was a no brainer...as I imagine Seijka over Wildie will be....
Anyway...just because a player goes on loan to the championship doesnt mean thats it.....it keeps them match fit playing regular games...its up to the player to do his stuff there and keep fighting for their go in the first team....
Sending fringe players out on loan dont mean the end...look wher Mitch Aichurch was this time last season and where he is now...

| I agree with what Upthecats says.
Going on loan does not mean he has no future at Wakefield
The very fact that we kept him on and extended his deal means that Agar must have seen something he likes
I guess we'll see.

| I feel Matty is very unlucky to have not been given a run, but it seems that Agar just doesn't rate him highly enough. He won the young player of the year award in 2011 under Kear, at which point he had 18 superleague games under his belt. As we stand, into the third season since then, he has only played 12 further games, the last two of which this season he played quite well in. Likewise the last game of last season against Cas he performed very well. He has never had the chance to put a string of games together to stake a claim for the role, yet he has been pushed out once more and his time at the club is probably all but over, bar a horror set of injuries. I wish him well and hope he can make the best of his career.
As for the others Walshaw probably needs more time at a lower level to continue to learn the game but is worth persevering with. Trout i'm not so sure has what it take as he doesn't really seem to have the physique for the front row or the skills for the back of the pack. But again maybe another spell in the championship will help bring him on. Annakin should be at LF for me when fit, he is way better than Washbrook thats for sure. That one will be the acid test. The way Tautai is palying may be a spanner in the works there but if Washbrook is picked ahead of him then something is wrong somewhere.

| Wildie has dropped down the pecking order but its by no means the end of his Trinity career. At this moment, Mcshane is a better hooker and Godinet is a better scrum half, so Wildie is back up. If he's not playing he's not match fit, sitting on the sides waiting for a loss of form or injury isn't great for confidence, loaning him out to keep his fitness up seems like a professional way of running the club. Doncaster paying some of his wages while he's not playing seems a win win situation.
Doncaster though? I thought we'd burn't that bridge at the end of last season..........

| Quote: Wildcat26 "Care to elaborate on your opinion ?
To me it looks like a Proffesional coach does not class him good enough to be in his starting 17 each week.
From what i have seen i agree, Matt has had countless oppurtunities to step up and play his game.
Agar works with these players day in day out and he`s leaving him out for a reason, Because he`s not good enough to be in his first 17! Not because he doesnt like him, Not because he want`s to `Mess him about`.
To me he is a decent cover there for injuries or if someone is in poor form he gets his chance.'"
I guess you class 10 min spells in a handful of games as countless opportunities? From what I've seen from highlights Wildie played well against London and Catalans but gets dropped for an unproved Aussie for the Saints match.
Think all these Agar lovers need to get out of his backside and start look over at Cas where they put faith in their youth and develop and encourage their younger players and not cast them out. How it must look to an outsider when we loan out Walshaw and Wildie and whoever else and sign the likes of Ryan and Siejka, and this brings me to a point where when Agar has money he signs good players (Kirmond, Aiton, Big Ali -they could be Elstons) but also brings in useless, overseas garbage such as Justin Poore. The same happened when he was at Hull. With all the money there, I think he only brought through Tom Briscoe ( better ask Hull fans).
The thread is about Wildie though, who for me, has never had a fair crack of the whip under Agar like Cowling and Kay last year.

| Quote: Khlav Kalash "Sadly all too predictable. I guess its especially gutting for someone who took a pay cut and signed for the club when no one else wanted to only to be replaced by an unproven kid from Australia. Of the few opportunities Wildie has had post 2011 he has never had an obviously poor game or made any significant errors where only last Sunday Lyne made two pivotal errors (granted one of which the player should’ve been tackled prior to Lyne’s pitiful attempt but still) yet is in the team regardless.
Trout will be next if there is anyone to take him, it is a little more understandable given the glut of back rowers the club has. Anakin probably won’t get a shot at 13 due to the obligatory inclusion of Washbrook in the match day 17 so he’ll either end up propping again or fighting it out with Kirmond, Ryan, Lauitiiti, Molloy and maybe Tautai. Don’t rate his chances much.

| Khlav Kalash you say some of us need to get out of Agars but at the end of the day he is a Super League coach, he knows what he's doing. He has more knowledge and information on the players then you do

| First time I've seen Siejka last weekend and he looks quite compact and stocky (14 stone)and appears to have some zip and a step. Wouldn't look out of place at hooker when compared to size of Wildie or predecessor Wood.
Bet he's seen as the impact utility off the bench now Wildie gone.

I never said that but you're right he knows more than I do about the players and the game in general, but then Tim Roby knows the rules better than most but it doesn't stop people voicing their thoughts on the matter.

| Wildie hasn't had a decent run of games under Agar same as Ellis didn't until he had no choice, and we all know what happened then.
Seem to recall Wildie swinging game against Cas on Good Friday over there in 2011. He took them on up the middle and helped to turnaround a twenty point deficit. Great night!!
