I think there's more than one missing Vastman's point!
For what it's worth I completely agree, I have never known us have such strength in depth. We have an NRL schoolboy international, of not that long ago and we haven't even seen him yet!

| Quote: Adam_Harrison9 "Disagree as the youngsters that have come through the ranks at Leeds over the last couple of years have far outweighed ours in terms of talent and it still appears they do to the current day. Leeds have several youngsters on loan at super league clubs, we're lucky if ours are good enough to be competitive in the championship. I have no problem with people being positive and I like the depth we have but I don't necessarily think the current depth we have equates to any kind of quality. Our first 17-19 is strong and should give any side a game but I don't think the young uns except Annakin have shown thy're capable of being competent super league players. Obviously, just my opinion, but I've seen nothing to suggest we have a production line of youngsters capable of progressing Trinity in the Super League as of yet...
Although, as a second string it isn't too shoddy when compared to the likes of teams around us. Just disagreeing with the Leeds comment. I'd have thought the likes of Wigan, Leeds, Saints, even Hull FC all have better second strings and youngsters than us and I fear it will only become more apparent if the U19's results are to show for it.'"
Think your wrong IMO - many Leeds youngsters have not made the grade - nor do good young players always make the step up as shown by our all conquering Academy team of a few years back. I personally don't blame just the coaching staff for that. People moan about Wildie and Wallshaw not getting a fair crack of the whip but they have in fact played far more SL games than some of Leeds more fancied youngsters.
However that's not the point.
The point is not that the 2nd string is a great team - its to point out that even at the bare bones we could compete against most other SL teams who are also down to the bare bones - including Leeds - all things are relative.
This means as far as my RL logic takes me that during the AVERAGE ups and downs of a season we now hopefully have enough quality to plug the gaps as and when they appear - which may be the difference between safety or relegation to 8th or 9th spot.
The last time we had a similar amount of cover was 2008/2009 when we manage a CCup semi and a top 8.

Centre - Collis,Lyne,Sykes,Keinhorst,Walshaw,Ryan
Stand off - Sammut,Sykes,Godinet,Seijka
Scrum half - Godinet,Sammut,Seijka,Wildie

| have a look at Salford's team 2
....you'll feel a lot better about yours if you do.
Then maybe look at London/Bradford's team 2 where I feature in the second row.
In a team 2 league you'd be in the same position as the team 1 league - between 7th-9th

| Just to add , what’s happening with the U19s . more investment than ever , but not very good , I base my opinions on what I see (admittedly not London) and if I was M/C I would want to know why with the resources at their disposal the coaching staff aren’t doing better.

Going by the result you didn't miss much at London either.

| I agree we do have good strength this year. Credit to Agar and Mr Carter. Briscoe is way short of standard though after witnessing the Fev friendly and the Wigan game. He looks a liability.

In all fairness I think Briscoe has been brought in too early in his career and he is not yet ready for SL rugby.
The fact that Agar has had to bring Riley in tends to suggest Agar possibly now feels the same.
I have said it before, it was suggested we had the pick of Leeds reserves as loan players. I can't understand
why Briscoe was chosen over Duckworth who would have been a better prospect for our situation.

For all we know Leeds could of gave us a list of players they are happy to loan to us and Duckworth wasn't one of them.

For me he was one off the only players that showed interest in the Fev freindly - Thought his attack looked promising, And his defence looked solid.
Your opinion of him been a "Liability" Comes from watching a freindly and 1 league game in a unsettled squad that had played a couple of games together.
