| Seems some people think 1 win in 9 (soon to be 10) is ok. Well that's relegation form.

| None of us think it's ok -KK, but I do not believe now is the right time to sack the coach. If it turns into 1 win in 14 or 15, then that might be a different matter !!

My question is simple!!!!!
Do you feel Agar is the man for the job - you've had a few seasons to work it out.
If not, do you think we should act now or await the inevitable when it will make no difference.
Finally how am I finding it easy to shoot bullets, short of reciting the Lords prayer how much more contrition could I show in my post!!
At this moment in time yes he is,unless any coaches from Wigan,Saints,Leeds etc are willing with also their chairman with fat wallets on board ,fancy it.It's not going to happen is it.PS.sorry to disagree with you...

Agar has had to work on a tight budget new players in the squad to gel give him a chance.

The three "Aussies" haven't even been here a fortnight yet, and Sammut has only been here a week, with Siejka still to come (hopefully).........you can't put a brand new engine in a car and expect it to perform flat out straight away...it takes time to loosen up !!!'"
Again My opinion is based on the 2 previous seasons not just the two games this year.

| I can see your point, but it does leave a couple of unanswered questions (one of which you do ask)
1) who would you replace him with
2) Who could we afford to replace him with.
IMO Agar has done an OK job with an OK team with limited resources, pretty much the same as Kear and better than other recent coaches.
One thing Agar does seem to have a good record on is spotting a good player who is off everyone else's radar, the only exception to this seems to be his love affair with Lynne (but I will allow him that due to his other findings) besides I have a feeling that Lynne is going to surprise a few this season as he already has a little for me.
I think for the last 2 seasons we have hit above our weight and this year we will probably finish about where we should be, which will be 12th or 13th. With the resources we have and the players we have, you cannot argue for much better, if we do manage a bit better then great, but my expectation isn't for much more.

| I'm not sure that any coach could have done a great deal more with the resources and the background turmoil that Agar has had to deal with; in the midst of all that, he's brought some great players to the club and in fairness, some of his spots saved the club this time around - players he brought here were sold at huge profit to dig us out of a hole.
This squad looks better than last year and given the lack of coherent off-season and the fact that our pivots are strangers; I'm prepared to give it a few more games to see what they can actually do.
As for alternatives - Morrison is unproven as a coach; Kear is a dinosaur; Cullen has a proven track record of failure and even the much vaunted Peter Gentle, who we were fighting over last season and was going to change the face of British RL, was an abject failure in SL.
Meanwhile - Andy Kelly has just been appointed as Head of Youth development at Shudds (something of an oxymoron in the past!) - maybe he'll make a return to SL coaching one day?
In the meantime - I'm happy to see what Agar does with this squad; personally, I think he'll keep us up.

1 win in 7 with a far more settled squad (with arguably better players). Still relegation form. Ironically the 1 came after the poop hit the fan.

You can disagree with me all you wish, but when you clearly don't or can't read a post before you do it's frankly annoying.
Try reading it again, be the big lad not just his mate and admit you may have misread it (and I'm being kind) and say sorry.
I've had to do it myself in the past and it won't kill you, trust me.

7 games that mean nothing now. This is this season and we have 25 rounds of SL to go. No matter how much people moan on here I doubt anything will change. Carter things Agar is a good coach and I agree - just get behind the lads.

Again from me.. ... we all know what has happened over the 2 previous seasons...2 years ago we won the last 8 games (I believe ??) and last year we did the opposite....ups and downs (as is the norm with us !!), but I firmly believe we need to give the PLAYERS the opportunity to show Agar (and us) what they can do.
Believe me, I am as frustrated as you are, but we are all on board the Wildcats rollercoaster together, and now is not the time to throw the driver out !!

Don't get your Kear comments, he's no dinosaur and frankly still has more coaching ability in his left toe than most SL coaches. John Kears simply had enough and who can blame him.
As for the rest of your comments fair enough. However I used the word gut feeling, and my gut feeling says disaster this season if we don't act soon - and by that I don't mean it has to be Agars head, though I fail to see any other way.
To me this feels just like 2006 and I don't think the club could survive another one of those.

| Come on Vasty. You started a really good thread but then started getting stroppy with the people who have different opinion.
Personally I don't agree with you.
I think Agar has done a decent job considering where the club has been.
Of course we are all upset about the Bradford game but for every one of those games that was disappointing we have had some great games under Agar. The run to the playoffs was indeed because of Bradford's points deduction but that doesn't mean we didn't do well to get to 9th and put ourselves in that position. Hull KR didn't do it. Neither did Cas.
Equally last year, we had a good chance of doing the same with the two games against Leeds being s close to getting us there. The players put a massive effort in but it wasn't just them, just the same as the loss is not just the players fault.
One of the credits I give Agar is that the players always talk highly of him. Even those that leave don't slag him off. Even John Kear for whom I have I have the greatest respect, was slagged off by some of the players.
When you say the team isn't his team, I only see that caused by the change in the team rather than their bond with him.
Personally, as said above I think this is too early to call.
Morrison is a very good choice as a future Wakefield coach. I'd probably pick him over many others in the game right now. I thought if Kear had kept his job that Morrison would some day take over. But if we did get him, he would I think aim to build a club like Agar is trying to do rather than win some short term games.
So I'd rather keep him and see how things go. There is a long way to go in this season and personally I think Castleford, Hull KR, Widnes all think a bit too much of themselves and that we and Bradford could easily place above them by the end of the season.
We shall see.
